potenzas SUCK after 5000 miles of driving...i couldnt hear after i drove from the road noise. Pirelli Pzero Neros are REALLY nice. Handling and noise levels are great! If you want to go as far as winter tires...definately Blizzaks. My celica was lowered 2 inches and driving in 4 inches of snow was no prob!

Goodyear Eagle F1 gs-d3 These tires are awesome!!! Ive had them for about 5000 miles. During dry conditions, these grip VERY well. I drive very "spirited" and these have been able to grip the road in all sorts of circumstances. I have only been able to screech my tires on turns only a few times. Any faster i would be scared to push my car to that limit. I basically have not met the limit of these yet but i plan to when i start autoXing. Before I had potenzas and they were okay but lost traction alot. During wet conditions, i dont drive "spirited" but i do drive thru all sorts of puddles and have not hydroplaned at all. Wet traction is good with these tires. Check out tirerack.com and you can see the ratings, all green For the price of 130 installed each, i honestly don't think there can be a more comparable well rounded tire =) -Minh

Just asking a question in this thread instead of starting another.
Are 55's instead of 50's ok?

i'm looking into some tires as well...not too soft that they are completely bald after 15K...but not to hard that they suck at traction...i was looking at es-100s, possibly azenis (streching it though), pirelli P7000...i dunno...

Falken Ziex ZE-512's great tires, don't know how well they perform in snow but they say they are all-season

All season tires and Celica just doesn't ring into my head. I have driven on the stock all season tires and they sucked. I have driven on high performance "summer" tires and they sucked ten times in the snow. I have said this before and I will say it again for the degenerates. If you drive in regions of the US that produce snow some months of the year and you drive a $20,000 + car or a Celica get snow tires. Period. amongst the periods... Get a cheap 15" or even 16" stock Celica wheels and equip them with snow tires. The narrower the better. Nokian HR, WR or something are the best you can get and I made the research on it. Most of us have aftermarket wheels, so keep them for dedicated summer/wet and dry tires and the cheap throw backs for the winter tires. In fact, my friend that owns a Dodge F-150 just put on his winter tires and doesn't haven't the luxury of an extra set of wheels. I'm going to slap on my 15" stock wheels with my winter tires already on there in a couple of weeks also. Good luck all

Are 55's instead of 50's ok? yes, it would be ok. it's going to cost you a little more, handling is going to suck a little. when you hit bumps, it's going to feel a little softer...
