They LOOK much better than MTECS. Are they blue-glass bulbs?

BTW... I'm a bit worried because of how bright they are. If they are higher than stock wattage, you're running a huge risk of frying something. I've looked up MTECs before, and they run stock wattage (55 for lows, if I recall).

I'm sooo tempted to buy a set right now though.

MTEC are 4,350K (WHITE)

EuroDezigns are 8500K (BLUE/PURPLE)

You'll get a lot of blue or even purple as soon as they get a few hours to 'burn-in'

Blue is the worst color lighting to use at night (yellow is the best), and bad weather just compunds the problem. Not to mention the blue tint on the bulb already handicaps the light output as it is. I had some of those blue bulbs, I'd say moderately blue (probably around 6000-7000K), and the night I installed them it was raining. I went out and couldn't see more than 10ft in front of me. It was so bad I had to turn back and put my stock bulbs back in. The blue bulbs were bright on the wall and everything, but on the road, they were almost non existant. My fogs put more light on the road than the headlights did. thumbsdown

Yeah, there is no question about the problem these "hyper-white/blue" lights have in poor weather. Factory fog lights are always amber for a reason.

The reason nobody realizes the shortfalls of these bulbs are simple. To judge the brightness, everyone either shines them on a white wall, or looks directly into the light. Try turning them on a black wall, see what happens. wink

That being said... I still use them cause they are purdy. rofl

Both. smile Almost anything with a blue or purple coating on the bulb.

Yup, there's even a filter built into our fog light lenses that will prevent you from matching headlight and foglight colors, since it makes the light output yellowish.

Yup, my friend just installed some purple and blue headlight bulbs on his Supra, and the lighting on the road was horrible. Good thing he doesn't drive it in the rain. wink

^^^ Hey, what can I say? I live in Cali. There is never bad weather here, and I'm never driving anyplace that doesn't have street lights, so really headlights don't serve all that much purpose. They make you visable to other cars... and that's about it.

I have said the same to an extent yet no one every wants to believe.
I also believe that some of the street lights might cancel out some of the light output from these MTEC's. And still no one wants to believe and still yet I still just ordered some replacement MTEC low beams to fill in my one blown one.
I should have gotten rid of these when my girl said "where is the road?"
"It's rather dark tonight." Then I knew all the MTECS were for show and nothing but less than stock.
This will hopefully be the last and will be now that I know about these replacements and others. Thanks all .

HA HA, that's funny. The dealership did free up that caliper and cleaned it free of charge and put shims in the pad, even though I told them not to The bolt wasn't broken, they had the caliper off. I saw it. Cost me nothing.
I also have the proper bed in procedures that I will do soon. Thanks again for everything.

Weird, cause I know the bolt didn't have a head on it, unless they put it in from the opposite side (which I don't think is possible).

I'm probably getting the lights tomorrow. I'll try to post some pics after I install it. I'll take a pic on the streets.

No it's just blue tinted halogens. But supposedly they are really white like the real xenon.
