Is this front tie bar really only for the manual transmission only? One website I saw said it's only for the manual transmission. I guess it'd be because of clearance issues from the auto tranny. Anyone have this? Useful?

Yep, tightens your steering a bit. It's well worth it, especially if you are dropped.

Yes, it will only fit the manuals since their cases aren't as big as the autos. The Cusco bar is the only tie bar that actually works on our cars. Hypermotive and Tanabe's front and rear tie bars are useless, since they bolt on to already rigid parts of the chassis.

so there's no chance it will fit an auto? on the hypermotive website they say they don't have a front lower strut bar yet. or do they?

I've never heard of anyone trying to install one on an auto, but I'd think Cusco would've tried to make one that would fit both, since they'd make much more money off of it (there are much more auto Celicas than manuals).

Not sure when/if Hypermotive is coming out with a front bar, but it will be the same as Cusco's. If they use the same material as their front strut bar (the weakest out there), the Cusco bar will definitely be stiffer, though.
