so yesterday my car was feeling extremely bogged down. i took my car in to toyota. they said they had to replace the MAF and i could pick it up today. anyway...they did some other stuff too and it cost me 430 bucks. anyhow, i borrowed my dads van in the meantime...well...i fell asleep at the wheel early this morning and totalled the van...luckily i wasnt driving my car. either way...im some deep shit. thats 2 cars ive totalled in just over 2 years. thank god no one was hurt. if i had any passengers in the car with me...it would be a gauruntee they would have died.
yeah i belive it was Timo, he was in the newspaper 2. damn guys we need to be more carefull the celicas are becoming to disapare one by one. soon there will be no more celicas left, we need to chill and stay awake, and speed at the track not in the highway. keep ur head up and tankfully it was not the celica that was total, hope things work out
I still don't understand how people fall asleep at the wheel? Drive Faster.
If you don't understand it, you've never driven long trips on little sleep. I have to be out of my house by 5:00am some mornings for tournaments 100+ miles away. If there is no traffic and nothing happening around you, it's easy to drift off.
Anyway, sorry about the van. You're right, thankfully it wasn't the Celica. Hope everything works out.
glad you're okay bro, it's funny that i read this post right now, i just got home (it's 3:30 AM), and i decided to stop almost halfway home to a cheveron station to pick up some starbucks cause i was starting to dream... so i figured it was worth the extra 10 minutes and $2.15 for my starbucks rather than thrashin' my baby.
i don't get how peopel fall asleep at the wheel, my friend fell asleep at the wheel while she was driving behind one of those lawn mowing trucks where it has the ramp and her car went up the ramp like halfway. so her left front weel was on the ramp and her right wheel was on the street and she woke up and jerk the car and it tore her bumper off.
well...i was runnin off 6 hours of sleep and up for 25 hours at the time. i thought i was fine because i made the 30 minute trip up to where i needed to drop off my friends, on my way back a different story. i was less than 1/2 a mile from my house when i wrecked. for those that dont understand falling asleep at the wheel...trust me, i didnt either until yesterday. me and my dad worked it out, i owe him 900 for the van, and have to pay the rental car until he buys a new vehicle. oh...he cant take my celica, he has nothing to do with my vehicle and my insurance. and thank god there was a huge accident before mine. all the cops were worried about that and made me wait...so i was able to get a tow truck in and out before the cops came...therefore...not on my record and i dont have to report it to insurance.

Seriously, some people need adrenaline shots in the chest just to keep them functioning. Red Bull, coffee, loud music (nothing with bass), roll window down, turn AC up. Theres no reason to fall asleep. If you feel like you are, just pull over and take a nap for 15 minutes. I've done that couple times driving home from LA.

I used to drive all over the US for my job. Sometimes we would drive for 20 hours non-stop. The only thing that helped me was to crank the radio, roll the windows down, and get a cup of ice and start crunchin' on it. Worked like a charm.

That's what happens when your driving an automatic
I feel asleep at the wheel once after a 1300 mile drive from Louisiana to Maryland...it was in VA, and I drove the rental van off the road a little, drove about a 1/4 mile, and then when I woke up, I was like OHHH SHIITTTTTT and was WIDE AWAKE the rest of the trip.
To have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation To know even one life has breathed easier This is to have succeeded.
I Jus Crank The radio Up n start singing along with the song always work for me and drink a lot of liquid. Then next thing you knoe i need to piss n that would keep me a awake. I would dinrk coffee or take redbull but im not a caffine junky.
