What's the difference between Full Catback and Axle back on a celica GT '01?
To me it looks the same on the celica...

When I go to Greddy website and see how it looks like. It has a 3 piece straight pipe design... Which I think it goes from the cat to all the way to the exhaust.

But when I see magnaflow and some other catbacks, it looks like a < shape... Which I think it's axle back...

I'm confused...

They both do what their names imply: a catback is an exhaust system that replaces your exhaust from the cat to the tip, while an axle back only replaces the exhaust from the axle (rear wheels) back. Axle backs are good for overall good power, and are quieter, while catbacks are better for top end power (may lose some low end), and can be much, much louder (like Kazuma eek ).

I'm thinking about getting the magnaflow catback...
But it looks like an axle back... And this isn't the only one that looks like an axle back.

But the greddy is full 3 piece straight catback

Here's the link to the magnaflow:

You're better off with a TRD or TPR exhaust instead of Magnaflow. The 2.25" piping on the Magnaflow will restrict top end power.

I heard that the 2.25 piping sounds better with celica gt.
I don't know because I never heard it... And TRD's much more expensive... Is it worth $150 more than the magnaflow?

This ones TRD by Kazuma:

Is this ok?

What's a resonator? So you have a custom catback? How much was it?

TRD is actually cheaper than the price listed on the Magnaflow site. You can get it for around $500. The TPR exhaust is $450. Both should make more power than the Magnaflow due to the larger piping.

The Kazuma is 2.5" all the way back, and EXTREMELY loud (not street legal by a long shot). All three above are street legal, and moderately loud.

The resonator comes after the cat and before the axle back. It's basically a long muffler tuned to get rid of high frequency raspiness. As for a custom cat back, the one thing you NEED to remember is to have the piping mandrel bent. Crush bending will just restrict power, and basically waste money.

Thanks for the info.
Actually magnaflow is $400 including shipping.
I couldn't find TRD's on any of the websites. But I would rather get an Apexi N1 than the TRD. I don't know what piping it has but I'd rather get Apexi. Or am I wrong on this one?

OH! so that's what that long thing was!
I thought that was another cat! hehehehe
Thanks a ton!

Okay here's the list that I'm considering to buy

TRD
Apexi N1
Borla
Magnaflow

Can some one rank them?
Thanks

I'd say performance wise:

TRD
Borla
Magnaflow
Apexi

Loudness wise:

TRD, Borla, and Magnaflow are all near the same
Apexi is quieter

Just get a TRD. Don't ask any more questions, just get a TRD axleback (and not a Kazuma). rofl

TRD has deep throaty sound, the best gains so far (except TPR), and the tip is the same size of the stock GT tip.

The TRD tip is 4", definitely not even close to the stock GT tip (more like 2.75" - 3").

Let me change my post then.

The tip is about the same size of the stock GT tip.

Then is in comparison to the size difference of a stock tip and a TSRM tip, which would be not even close.

Do they sell the TRD's at the dealer?
Does anyone know where I can get a TRD for a fraction of the cost? I don't mean like half. Just cheaper compared to other stores

Thanks!
