Is it true that if you disable the DRL's by cutting the wire you will lose your High beams?

no. DRL are Daytime Running Lights. when the DRL comes on, its usually the high beam light coming on at morning. so in a way, ur getting rid of high beam. but no, when you cut the DRL wire and turn on high beam, you will have it. the only thing i heard from cutting the DRL is that ur gas reading might be inaccurate, but that will go away once you fill up ur tank

Your DRL's will still come on when your low beams are on, that didnt make sense the low beams and DRLs (high beams at low output) never come on at the same time disabling the DRLs (high beams at low output) will just make your headlights not turn on automatically when you drive your car... with it disabled you would need to turn your lights on in the night when you need them.

Personally, I just unplugged the little teeny lights in the high beam area, & I always drive with my lowbeams on. I think it looks better... ![[Linked Image from teamcelica.com]](http://www.teamcelica.com/members/8/RoBceli11.jpg)

drl's are high beams running at 35% intensity. unplugging any lights means you wont have high beams..and thats not too smart..

I don't unplug the high beam bulbs, just the little additional ones that are also in the highbeam area. I always run with my lowbeams on (by turning the lights on as normal) I just think it looks better.
