Anyone checked out December issue of Sport Compact Car? They tested his 2001 Skyline GT-R V-Spec II He's had a lot of work done to it, putting down 414 horsepower, 322lb-feet of torque on the dyno. I don't think if I was as rich as Paul Walker I'd let anyone borrow my Skyline to bag on around town. He wasn't even around when they tested the car...then, after pulling off a 12.5 second quarter mile the driver (Paul Walkers mechanic) f*d the engine up good. Godamn, some day I'd like to own a Skyline. Even a bone stock Skyline. Here's a snap and a look at the dyno-chart...look at the power curve on this beast (if you can call it a curve!)

Real nice car! It goes on to say he has many, many cars, Skyline being only one of them. When I read the headline, I thought it was about another guy named Paul Walker (not the actor). Didn't realize his role in F&F got to him that much. Too bad about the motor. The funny thing is, the guy driving it is supposed to know about the car and drives it regularly. The magazine guys were afraid to drive it (rightfully so).

You can have a Skyline...buy an Infiniti G35 Coupe. That's until the new skyline comes out in japan. Car and Driver did an article about. I'd link ya all, but no one here reads anything about cars anyways.

^^Wrong. G35 is the same thing as a stock skyline R34. GT-R is what makes all the kids drool. The stock engine is the same. Only difference is the badging. It's the Nissan V35 skyline in Japan.

The car isn't specifically set-up for sheer horsepower. It's all-around handling, useable power, stopping...

You can have a Skyline now, if you have $$$ to spend. Visit http://www.motorex.net/skyline.htmlThey import Skyline to the US and do conversion so that they are street legal. The car will be DOT approved, EPA tested and provide paper work to clear the car for U.S. street use. BTW, the dyno graph is pretty lame and scaling is kinda misleading.

It is very sexy though.

Ok, are you talking about the G35 here in the US? It doesn't have the same stock motor as the R34, as the R34 is turbo'd and the G35 isn't. However, without looking at the turbo.. the motors would be the same.

the point is that they havent really done any work to it... and getting 415 hp out of an RB26dett is about as easy as making a peanut butter sandwich...
the car is nice, its a great car... but its hardly magazine worthy...
its basically like putting a civic with intake as a feature in super street IMO...

Someone posted a video of an 8-second turbo-diesel F-350 on here before. Could it beat my car? Yes. Could it beat a stock Ferrari Enzo? Yes. Would I trade my car for it? NO.

Your stock skyline is the same friggin car as the Infiniti G35, except the japanese don't have Infiniti, so it's a Nissan. Trust me here buddy. EXACT SAME CAR STOCK TO STOCK, JUST DIFFERENT NAME. Don't confuse the GTR with the regular V35 skyline. Another difference is the AWD system the Skyline from japan uses. The ATTESA system is able to split power to rear wheels. I think the split is 30-70rear, if I'm not mistaken, and it drives like a RWD car.

You're the one who is wrong. R34 GTR R34 GT-X (Sedan) R34 GT-X (Coupe) V35 The GTR35 has not been released yet. If you think the only difference between the GTR and the GTX is the badging, you need to go do some reading. They have different: Interiors Engine Transmissions Bumpers Wheels Suspension Brakes Tires Drivetrain The V35 and the R34 are also completely different cars, with different chassis and different engines.

you guys are missing the point... and that is that paul walker is a fruitcake and his skyline is not impressive...
hell, they needed to change the scale of the dyno to make it look good...

Silver, it's as simple as this. You've got it a bit too complicated...I know the differences with the performance differences, but for simplicity's sake: The G35 is the Skyline in Japan. No GT-R Version though. Here's some more updated pics. http://skyline2.nissan.co.jp/top.html

At first, I thought you meant Paul Walker's type of Skyline posted earlier. And yes Buddy, I know the G35 is the Skyline of Japan. You only confused me..
