Celica Forums General Discussion Engine and Performance Since everyone is talking about springs and struts

I've already decided on the KYB AGX struts but for the damn life of me I cant make a choice between Eibach Sportlines and Tein S. Techs. I've done my research online and off. I like the 2" drop of the Sportlines... but the price of the S. Techs is really nice as well. [FYI: those are not the only factors I considered in making my choice] But still I just can't freakin decide... some help or extra opinions would be nice...Also I talked to a guy about an install and he said 400 bucks...and that is for the springs w/o an alignment. Does that sound right or is he trying to screw me over?

Yeah that sounds just about right with some shops. I called about 10 tire/suspension shops and about 2 or 3 gave me reasonable prices. You should be able to get them installed for about 180-200 or maybe like 250 installed and aligned. I got mine put in for 180 other places were charging me like 350+ bucks. Some suggestions are to go to tire shops because they usually specialize in suspension too.

hell no... they should do it for about 90-120 bucks... its actually easier for them to put new springs on new shocks because they dont have to get the old springs off the old shocks... they can just swap em...

and the s tech's will make the shocks last longer than sportlines because of the spring height.

I talked to my friend and he said he could do it for like 20 bucks... I hope he knows what he is doing though... And then I guess I can just take it to a shop for the alignment.

if you want a lower drop at a cheaper price go Tanabe DF210 springs. If you look hard you can get them for $125 shipped on sale.

I got the H&R springs - I like them, but its not a 2" drop, more like 1.5
