First of all, at each end of the intake where it is supposed to be a perfect circle openining, there are bends so would I be able to just bend it back? I think it was bent during shipping.

Also, I was reading the instructions, and it seems like a bitch to install. How much would it cost to take it to a shop? And does toyota install intakes??

Please help!

save your money...it's actually quite fun to install it. it make you more aware of what's going on inside your car. again, like i said before..if you know how to plug in your vcr/cablebox/tv...then CAI is cake.

dude you should definitely do it yourself. i have a 03 gts and it took about 2hours. installing the intake itself takes like 5 mins but its taking off the bumper thats took me forever. if you know about cars it shouldnt take you that long. i have the ebay intake which is gen 1 style, and it works perfect. i had to cut my fender wall liner for the intake to fit so i dont know if yours requires the same. if it does it takes like 2secs, really easy. but definitely check out the installs for how to connect the tubes n hoses so you wont have that damn engine light! they say it'll come on, but i had it come on 1 time bc i rushed it but the next day when i re-did it, it hasnt came on since! good luck bro!!! thumbsup

Go for it. My CAI was the first thing I ever installed by myself. I'm handy with a wrench and a screwdriver. I printed off a couple guides from here & took my time. The only thing I would say is be sure to cut the plastic back a good inch so there's no chance of it rubbing.

DIY! it's easy. don't let the black and white pictures in the instruction manual scare you. rofl The only bitch part was getting that "silver" adaptor to the radiator fan.

I did it myself and I've never lifted my hood before. Then again... mine was a SRI.

pay someone...
wait i just wanted to say opposite of what everyone else said. Some directions suck, i went to the how to section on this site and got mine, just because you dont have an aem or injen or rmm, unless you do, you can use them for reference, they are probably much better than the ones you have. Once its all done, you will relize that you saved 50-100 bucks and can buy another part
