I'm now looking for fogs for my TRD kit, I want the best functionality I can get, ones that fit in the image below and could hook up inside perfectly. Since my car didn't come with them, will they still connect like factory? Is the factory ones the best or is PIAA better? HID would be cool, maybe yellow, maybe blue or the normal white. A good EC friend on here told me Yellow is the best and will work the best. This will prolly be my next mod, would like to buy before the week-end. I would like both sets

If you want the fogs for use in poor weather, they HAVE to be yellow/amber. Amber fogs will serve you far better than even HIDs will in fog/rain.

http://www.newton.dep.anl.gov/askasci/phy99/phy99xx4.htm...it is important for fog lights to be one color (rather than white, which is all colors) because the different wavelengths(colors) of visible light scatter off the fog droplets differently. This phenomenon is known as "dispersion," because the different colors of light in an image will separate from each other, causing the image to "disperse." If you illuminate the road with only one wavelength (color) of light, the images of the objects you see will still become somewhat blurry because of the scattering of light by the fog, but at least you won't have extra problems from dispersion. So, if we want to use just one wavelength of light, which wavelength should we use?
It turns out that light with short wavelengths scatters more than light with long wavelengths (short to long: violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, red). So, a long wavelength light will be best. There's another thing to consider, too: our eyes are not equally sensitive to all colors. It turns out that we are most sensitive to yellow and green light. So, our best compromise between sensitivity for our eyes and a long wavelength for least scattering is yellow light...

oem is the ones on the inside.. if they came stock with the car they shine an amber color .. you can also change the bulbs so they shine blue...yellow ..etc.. TRD fogs are the ones on the outside but seeing as its quite a lot for a pair some people purchase "walmart" fogs to put in place.. the main difference with TRD fogs and Stock oem fogs is that, TRD ones have a special coating that no matter what bulb.. white, amber.. etc it will emit a yellow light to achieve yellow light with stock oem fogs you'd have to upgrade you're bulbs to something like mtech goldenboy or piaa ion yellow

my friend has some Hella foglights on his 2nd gen Eclipse, they seem to be the same diameter for the TRD kit fog holes. the thing is, is that his foglights arent HIDs or have a projector lense like the stock celica ones, but like the name - they are hella bright and white.

ok guys unless someone has got a better idea or can knock some sence into me, I'm buying a TRD fog kit, and the crazy price to go with it. This is my last ditch effort to see what else is out there. I want the function not just the look, KARacing seems to be the only one that has it and he wants $420 shipped for the kit, lights wiring, relays and switch.

How big is the opening on the TRD kit? The smallest "yellow" kit that PIAA has is for a 4" opening and that's what I'm running. The fog lights illuminate signs from as far away as a football field. The fog lights change color depending on what angle you're looking at them.

If I remember, the TRD opening is 3" so this kit will work perfect for you http://piaa.com/Lamps/Lamp-pages/004xt.html All you have to do is swap out the H3 bulbs for some Ion Crystal H3 bulbs and you'll have yellow fog lights. Not to mention you'll only spend half of what TRD fog lgiths cost. Installation is really easy. It'll only take you a couple hours if you take your time running the cables out of sight.
