went to my car this morning... felt like doing a little driving...
got into my car... and... the damn thing wont start... it made this rapid clicking noise...

is that the sound of a starter failing...?? or it's dead.

my car still has power... the lights and radio still work and it kept the alarm powered all through the night... so.. it cant be the battery.

the battery doesn't have enough power to start the car, but still has a decent amount to run electronics. Try charging it

Yep sounds like a bad battery to me, the clicking noise is your starter, so your starter is still good.

ok... gave the car a jump with my buddys Benz... it worked!...BUT!
was not able to hold the charge after 10min of letting car run on it's own power... i turned the celi off then tryed to turn it on again...

and now am back where i started...all i get is the rapid clicking sound again... eather the battery cant hold a charge or something is wrong with the starter... i'll bring it into Toyota (HAMMER) Thursday and have them figure it out

jump it then drive it around for a while or let it run without shutting it off for i'd say 30 min. I had this problem once and 10 min wasnt long enough to charge the battery, no use taking to the dealer so they can tell you something thats not wrong with the car, and if 30 min doesn't work then your battery could be shot. If your battery light comes on after a while of running your alternator might be shot but your car is new enough I dont think that would be the case. just give your battery enough time to charge.

aiight... i jumped the car again... and once again it started up again... took it out... drove it to PorterRanch from Granada Hills... and back home... encounterd an idiot in a Blue Subaru... the ones with the turbo built in and stuff... yeah he had power on his side but i out drove him through the traffic... anyways... i got home and let the car run for another 20min... so... thats a total of 30min+

i turned it off... then turned it on... it kinda strugled / lagged to turn over.. and it did turn on after all... i'am gonna go out in a few minutes and try to turn it on again... hope it does not lag this time../.. it kinda has me worried.

that is a cute dog.

as for optima, they are the best in the market. the "red top" is all you need if you dont have a major audio system using energy.

http://www.optimabatteries.com/publish/optima/americas0/en/config/product_info/automotive.html

although it says there arent any batteries for the Celica, there are, just go to AutoZone or PepBoys and ask them for one that'll fit.

same thing happend to me over the summer found out the battery had the right voltage, but the incorrect cranking amps aka the battery was shot... not my alternator or starter

so i had to buy a new battery which was a lot easier, apparently the cause was from me just using power without the engine on...

Your battery sounds like it isn't holding a charge well, buy an optima yellow top, if you have a system and neon (which most of us do) it's worth it.
