I'm sitting at Bob's Big Boy here where I live and tonight they have a classic car show and sitting there was a brand new Elise. I walk up to the guy and asked him how he likes his GTS engine. Well, this guy went nuts he was going on saying, "do you know what this" and "this is no Toyota". So I told him I'll prove it to him and walked him to my GTS popped the hood and said, "does this look familiar". The idiot stood the dumbfounded for a couple of seconds and then stormed off I laughed the whole way home. I mean this guy clearly had no clue about his car it even says in the brochure ENGINE: Toyota supplied DOHC. What a moron!!!

There is only one reason that engine is in the new elise, and that's because it's a damn good one!!

BTW, do you guys get the Vauxhall VX220 over there? It may be called the Opel speedster in the USA..

I know what the Opel Speedster is, but they don't sell Opels over here anymore. My Dad one time had an Opel Kadet. It was a collaboration with one of the US carmakers, but I don't remember which one.

I read a recent consumer review on the Lotus...it was frigtheningly bad! I can't remember where this was, I'll try and find it.
