it's been almost five years since i had my celica, and the problem that i am having with now is the noise that is coming from under my hood some where... I think that it might be my alternater, the bearins inside of it, but i also think it's the belt tensioner. i could be wrong... it gets really loud when its cold outside only. on warm days, the noise is gone... what can this be... give the some advice before i spend some big money at the shop.
a bowl of rice, fried chicken, and a glass of water!

I own a 1991 celica and I have that same problem, when its warm out there is no ratteling or noise, but when its cold it sounds radels faster and faster when my car accelerates. Is that the problem your having? if so I found out its the spedometer, i just need to get a new one, good luck if this helped you

I'm having the same problem right now, I've geen told to change the belt... But I check in the TSB and I found that the Belt tensioner can be related to this... Should I change both of them or just the belt ??? thanks !

Start by replacing the belt, if this is something you can do yourself. I had a squealling belt (worst when moist or humid), which seems to have totally gone away after replacing it with a Goodyear Gatorback belt from AutoZone ($30). There are several recent threads that have tips on how to do this.
If it turns out to be the tensioner, then you haven't lost anything but a little time. The problem with TSB's that point out a common problem is we sometimes are hesitant to try the obvious.
