OK i swapped my gt engine to a gts, but now my mechanic is telline me i need a 6 speed shifter and shifter cables in order for it to work. I called two places and ask them if they sell the 6 speed shifter with the engine and they told no. I called toyota and they want 600 bucks for the cables and the shifter. I called around and come to find out b&m makes a short throw shifter that will fit into my tranny, and i can get the cables for 75 bucks. Will this eliminate my problem???? I already have the 6 speed tranny. My mechanic was telling me dad that i needed a 6 speed shifter, and new shifter cables. I wasnt sure why. I havent heard of anyone else that did the swap that needed a six speed shifter.
