is everyone just a 7thgeneration buff in here or does anyone know where i can get a good 5sfe tranny or mr2 tranny from 90-93
i got ecu, wiring harnesses, a useless 4 wheel drive 3sgte tranny(for sale), and engine for 1k new
need a tranny 5sfe or mr2 tranny , trying to adapt 4 wheel drive to my 7th gen would be rediculously expensive
and dont tell me its been done before cause that UltimateCelica is not even a 7th gen it just has a 7th gen body kit

and it's iron block, so it's tough. the supra has an iron block and it's one of the most reliable modding engines available. just so you know, the 250 odd horses won't seem like much with that iron block, but modded that thing will rocket.

Over on n e w c e l i c a sucks.org a guy has a 3SGTE ENGINE SWAP GREDDY T-67 25G TURBO doing 12.3 quarter mile. I think there is a video of it too. Just look at the quarter mile times. and it's iron block, so it's tough. the supra has an iron block and it's one of the most reliable modding engines available. just so you know, the 250 odd horses won't seem like much with that iron block, but modded that thing will rocket. Yeah, if anyone is going to bother doing this, you want to mod it, not just swap it.

A 7th gen. celica engine has been moded its cost 100k and only hit 300hp and had almost a 9 out of 10 chance of blowing it if you drove it wrong swap is easier my friend cost wise i think but the Q is swap the enigine with which engine that'll fit the best ofr fastest If you have to spend that much money on a 3sgte swap and mods to make a 7th gen 300hp... you have noooooooooo fkin clue what ur doing If you want to do a 3sgte swap... you said you have the engine? and you are doing this into a 7th gen? well... first of all... A standard 5th gen tranny WIL NOT HOLD THE POWER!! I was going to do a 3sgte swap in my gts... but I sold it... And the tranny will not hold the power of the 3sgte... well... it will, but not for long, lol... When I was going to get my swap done, I would have gotten the front clip from an all trac that had all the nessicary wiring and ecu and all that jazz... I was going to have the swap done at a shop... They were going to get me everything from the front clip, plus a V6 camry or solara tranny. Those trannys can hold the power for the 3sgte... It would have cost me $4k for all the swap pieces and the install... I was NOT going to have an AWD tranny... it would have been around... $300 for an all trac tranny and a little more to put it in... The JDM st185 engine has 225hp... To boost it to 300 hp truly does NOT take a lot of effort, lol... Get a manifold back 3'' exaust... custom intake, port and polish ur heads... bigger turbo *as suggested in an earlier post*... aftermarket pulleys... get a lighter flywheel and short shifter for quick shifting... those are basics... if that doesn't get you to over 300hp, I'd be VERY suprised! I know a guy that had a stock all trac, and put $2500 worth of mods in his car and he runs 11.6 in the 1/4. Also... as with any turbo car... make sure the FIRST thing you get is a turbo timer and boost gauge/ controller... In turbo cars... depending on how long and how hard you run them... U NEED to let them cool down... If you go racing, and come home and just shut ur car off, it will end up hurting ur engine, BADLY... So get a turbo timer for that... and boost gauge/ controller so you can adjust the boost. I'm looking into getting an all trac right now... soon as the loan is signed Good luck with ur swap!! and if you need anything about the swap or 3sgte info at all, ask the 5th gen ppl I'm always arnd, so feel free to PM me.

Oh... and BTW... I believe the all trac may weigh more then ur 7th gen I'm not POSITIVE on that... the all trac is abt 3k lbs... I don't know as much abt new celi's as I do the 'fossil gens' so, I can't be for sure on that... BUT if the all trac weighs more... you WILL beat an all trac swap 7th gen vs stock all trac... The trac will get you off the line cause the AWD, but when the AWD lag kicks in... you go walkin by the all trac... This is why I was going to do the swap into my gts instead of buying an all trac... The swap gts WILL in the end be faster then the al trac... But, since she is sold... the all trac will do just fine for me I luv my flippy lights lololol ^__^

to much all-trac talk AHHHHHH!!!! damn, you know your stuff Ash and the All-Trac weighs more than the 7th Gen. I think its the iron block that weighs it down compared to the Neo-Celica's All-Aluminum engine.

Like a few people said, it takes a whole lot of custom work and a lot of money. Expect to pay $10k+ to do the swap along with some mods. The swap alone would be stupid like people say, you'd be lucky to be barely faster than a stock gts.

With $100,000 worth of modification into a stock 7th gen engine, you will get more then 300hp, theres no way 100,000 on any car will only give you 150 hp!! I think you typoed somewhere. Once you lower the compression on the 1zz-fe for example and strengthen the internals, and buy the kit and all necessity's you can run up to 400+hp and thats guaranteed no more then $15,000-$20,000!!

maybe 10,000 was ment lol... thats more understandable!! No I bet he meant 100,000 because that is how much the Rod whatever the fuck his name is spent on making the "Ultimate Celica". I bet if you were man enough and you did the work it would ony cost you 5k. I mean shit, I hear the 3stge bolts up to our cars with little modification. Hell, you can get the engine, tranny, and ecu for $1500 on ebay... Not to mention the engine is 10 times easier to tune than the 2zz. We swapped out a 3stge on my friends MR2 in less than a day. Much tighter area to work with too. I would do it if I wasn't so worried about screwing up the handling charachteristics of my car. With that Iron block, that thing is a TANK!!! Weighs in almost as much as the Vette LT1!!!! You want to talk about making your car too front heavy... Even with a battery relocation your screwed. I don't want a drag car. I want a car that can handle. Oh, and I was reading something on this thread about the tranny not being able to hold the modded 3stge's power? WTF!! Not to say you don't know what you are talking about. Because, you prolly do. What I am saying is, my friend has an mr2 and I was under the impression that they had the same tranny. He has it modded to about 350whp. He can launch the son of a bitch like nothing else and he has about 150k miles on the tranny. I am confused!!! Please educate me!!! I NEED TO LEARN!!!!

lol... first of all... I'm not marrying n e one 2nd... I'm abt 25 mins from Gettysburg... 3rd...Combatc... you said the 7th gen weighs 2500lbs? The all trac DOES weigh 3k, sooo, just doing a stock swap, the 7th gen will be a little quicker... But again... Like the others said... If ur gonna do the swap and you have the money to do the swap, it's a smart thing to go ahead and mod the thing to all hell while you can, lol. The 3sgte is already a kick ass engine, and turning up the boost as well as modding it makes it hella fast!! Sticking a CAI on a regular car will give you a boost in HP... but Sticking a CAI on a turbo car makes maybe double the HP then you would get on a N/A car... Doing any mod to a turbo car makes a BIG difference in the HP vs doing mods in a N/A car. I have never SEEN a 3sgte swap in a 7th gen... Yes, it was done in the ultimate celica, but I never really took a look at engine bay pics... I am not sure what would need to be rearrainged in the engine bay, lol... That might be a reason that it would be more expensive to do the swap into a 7th gen vs a 5th gen... The 3sgte swap into my 5th gen gts would have been simple... lol, it bolts right up! But I know a 7th gen wouldn't... That WILL increase the price a little bit for the actual install... But still... JUST doing the swap... will NOT be 10k, lol... You could make it cost 10k if you just settle on some place to do it... But if you know where to go, it wont be close to that much... The shop here, I'm sure would do it for 5k in a 7th gen... and that includes EVERYTHING for the swap. You also don't need to spend another 5k to make that car over 300hp, lol... Give me a day or 2 and i can find all the mods that you would need to do to make it arnd ummmmmm... 375hp easy and for a good price It's really not that hard... U just gotta know who to talk to... And when doing mods to a 5th gen engine, even if it is in a diff gen celica, stick with the ppl who know how to mod all tracs, the 5th gen freaks

nicely done, sakara. i myself would rather boost my 1zz up into high power. even 250-300whp would be fine with me. i also like the look of the 1zz, what with the plastic covers and all.

It involves a lot of custom work, its not anything like swapping it into a 5th gen. None of this stuff just drops in. All the mounts have to be redone, the crossmember may have to be redone, axles will need to be fabricated, intake and exhaust manifolds need to be fabricated, a FMIC system will need to be fabricated, cables will need to be rerouted (at the least), exhaust piping will need to be fabricated, custom hoses and coolant piping will need to be routed, wiring harness will need to be installed and modified to work with gauges, etc., throttle cable will need to be replaced and rerouted, the list goes on and on. All of this costs money. Even if you do it all yourself the parts and materials alone will cost thousands. If you dont do it all yourself you're looking at a few thousand just in labor alone. So now add it all up and tell me how much it costs. Engine, tranny, custom labor, and then mods to the engine.

hondas suck? toyota has been producing the celica for more than 20 years, and yet the the highest N/A hp of the Celica is 180? honda continues to beef up their production line with more hp. look at the RSX version 2, it gained 10hp for its remodeling, yet for the celica version 2, it received an ugly face transplant, new tails, rear hatch garnish, black interior, and the DBW. but no increase in HP. that is why toyota is killing the celica (and mr2), yet honda continues to better itself. toyota sucks.

i don't care abt N/A power I luff my all trac try top power at 275hp at 7psi even the STi is at 300hp... BUT it's boosting at 14psi so in the end, wouldn't that make the all trac faster on a stock turbo?

^^^i agree with you Ash, the all-trac was the best Celica engine of all time. but toyota dumped it and created the 2zz. if you notice, a 5th/6th gen GT4 engine was capable of producing that much hp with only 7psi, while the STi, a 2004 vehicle, makes 300hp at 14 psi. yet, toyota converted back to the 140hp baseline that, i think, 6th gens were running at. WTF, a 40hp increase for the letter "S"?! whoop-dee-doo toyota was ahead of the game but became dumb and shitted out.

well... toyota is going to hell in the sport department I mean... they were doing so good and now look.. no more supra, no more celi They really screwed up with that one I also think they should have made the celis with more HP and made then comparable, to the supra here in these last years... Maybe not with 250hp but you know... Bring back the all trac, or make a 7th gen with the power they should have had... I mean... NO celica can compair to an all trac... They should have given the 7th gens more power go out with a bang if they r gonna get rid of them to toyota for that

Maybe not with 250hp but you know... Bring back the all trac, or make a 7th gen with the power they should have had... I mean... NO celica can compair to an all trac... They should have given the 7th gens more power go out with a bang if they r gonna get rid of them to toyota for that exactly. if toyota wasnt going to create a turbo 7th gen celica, they should have at least made an N/A 7th gen with around 225hp, just to show that toyota can still hang with the f/i market. BTW why did the new Solara come out with 225hp? i forget whether its n/a 225 or f/i 225, but nonetheless, its 225. fuckers

n/a 225 its a v6, they prolly did it to compete with the accord v6. but the solara only has lift on the intake side, not both intake and exhaust like us. (hrmm..id still challenge one )

It's not that they Can't do it, it's that they wont. there's no need for a celica to have 225 N/A hp. Toyota simply makes realible cars not makeshift race cars like honda. Honda knows thats their money maker and is the reason why almsot any engine will easily fit in any car lol. I don't think toyota really gives a crap Theyd rather put money into makin a hybrid SUV then a higher hp celica. _______________________________ Info on the 3sgte swapped 7th gen ... (this is taken from the owners own post so don't bother me about symantics cause I dunno or care) with 29psi dyno run (103 octane fuel) 540.73 hp 409.75 ft-lbs @29psi 12.315 @119.41 was the last posted 1/4 mile time of the car that I could find this is a link to a video of the run (you have to right claick save as to see the video) http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid127/pb48ee0771ba8015bf3f7305a78e0dcd7/f7f24eec.mpgHere is some pics I found ... so yes, in fact it has been done The guy also admitted he wasnt a very good driver so NO thats not the best it could do. Hope this helps

i wouldn't want that much power and have to use 103 octane. i'd rather my car be fast and streetable. it would be nice if the gt had 160 hp and the gts had 200 (gt to compete with the lancer ralliart, and gts to compete with the rsx)

yeah that swap in a 7th gen is kinda awkward looking. Why not spend a similar amount of cash and do a 3zz? Less mods to the engine bay, you'd just need some new motor mounts and give that some F/I?
^ my plan when my 2zz finally shits the bed.
