Its a JVC KD-Lh300. Its pretty cool and has some good features. It has over 1,000 colors to choose from and you can upload your own personal pictures. The price is good at $190. If you know any other headunits let me know if, there around the same price. Max price prolly $230 cause its my xmas give. Heres a link w/more info http://www.cardomain.com/item/JVCKDLH300. and a pic

yeah friend of mine had a JVC that was installed by previous owner and it actually skipped.. a car stereo that skips when you go over bumps.. that's cheap.. he replaced it with a Pioneer 8500mp mp3 player with OEL displays it was sweet.. I got the same one in my old car, but it got stolen(the one time I forget to take the face plate in). Pioneer has good prices and nice quality. Alpine has better quality but for what you pay your going to get less cool features(like displays and color stuff). and a lot of the alpine units expect you to have an amp so if your just getting a head unit make sure it's got some wattage to pump your speakers.

i would recommend eclipse, if it is installed professionally, you get a three year manufacturere warranty, i think that they are the only people that do that, plus on top of that you get a one year theft waranty, so if it is stolen in the first year, eclipse will send you a new one for free, but it has to be installed by a certified shop and you have to send in your registration form, eclipses also come standard with a minimum 2.5 volt output on the r.c.a so if you are gonna run amps, they will definatley sound better

I was never a fan of jvc. My friend used to have one. They have good features but the quality is kinda cheap imo.

not a big fan of jvc, i would recommend kenwood excelon, the sound controls are so much better. and if you're getting an amp, don't worry about the RMS, instead look for the output voltage... smile

like I've said before, if you want a circus in your car stuff like that is nice cause you can put your own pictures on it and watch shit move around and change to a million colors. But in the end you're buying a STEREO. As far as the features on the JVC they're "cool" but the audio quality is sub-par. SO it all depends on what you're looking for really. It's not a SHITTY head unit, but it's not good by any means, especially in the audio department.
Not sure on how much you are willing to spend but I'm selling my eclipse CD8443 which was voted the best audio head unit for $325 plus shipping with all the anti theft registration and all that good stuff. I have it posted in the classifieds forum. If you're interested check it out.
But like I said it all depends on what you want. If you are just looking for apperance JVC is fine, but in truth the quality won't be much better than stock. All depends on your budget and your needs.

good infro. but im not getting a stero system in my car. Just a headunit. Alpine units are plain looking, imo. I got 2 friends w/them and there look so plain. They might have a lot of features and inputs and stuff. But thats not important to me since I do not plan on buying an amp or any other stero system parts. Ill keep looking around for like a week but I have seen one better that not under $240. There's a nice pioneer for $240 but i dont know if my parents would buy that for.
