Hehe and notice how on the video with both the intake and exhaust, lift kicks in at 4500...I'd say we got some pretty sweet stuff coming out from tpr in the future grin grin

I think it's some other "secret" part that TPR is working on. wink

Yes, that is definitely lift kicking in at 4500. No, it was DEFINITELY not caused by the intake or exhaust rofl

No one has the exhaust yet, but I will let you know when it gets here (should be shipped soon, I check my doorstep every day.)

Rumor has it that EasyC had some *secret* modding done to give him lift at 4500... no details are available but as you can see whatever he did, works.

umm, no.

First of all, people have played around with the lift point, and found that you'll start loosing power if lift engages too early, so there's no performance benefit known from that.

Second, he's obviously driving out in a street, not a drag. He slowly accelerates around the corner in first, and at 4500 RPMs goes to WOT. An engine always sounds louder when you give it a lot of gas. If you listen carefully you'll also see at 6000 RPMs a slight jump in engine noise - that's lift engaging. thumbsup

HELLLOO...it's called "double lift".. geez you newbies. All you have to do is put a little bit of Arrowhead water mixed w/ syrup, into the gas container and you can do it too! thumbsup ...LOL jk

but... i beg to differ... that IS lift kicking in at 4500RPM.. Listen to it over and over. Close your eyes and listen to it. It's definetely lift.. there's no way WOT is that loud even with exhaust + intake unless he's pushing in the clutch and revving the shit out of it. LOL... how do i know this? Lets just say that Blue Bomber and i had a nice conversation. grin!

Then why do I hear lift engaging at 6000 "again"?

Go put your car in 1st gear, roll along nice and easy at 4000 RPMs. Note the rather quiet sound the engine is making. Then stomp on the pedal. There should be a difference.

This is little more noticeable with the butterfly valve removed, and a lot more noticeable if you have intake and exhaust installed. With the pedal all the way down, there's more air ocming in the engine, corresponding to more gas pumped in, corresponding to more noise. It's as simple as that.

Do you honestly think that TPR, instead of getting the intakes and exhausts made and shipped and researching a new header, would play around with this? I'm not sure they have much money for R&D right now, and they strike me as a company that puts the customer first. They wouldn't go play with a new toy while you wait a month for an intake.

I think you oughta search around for more I/E or I/H/E Celica videos to see just how loud that combo is, regardless of lift.

You are quite ignorant aren't you. TPR has the exhaust and intake done, finished, through with. The shop is responsible for making them, not tpr. Trust me, I talk to chris (EasyC) every day. They are making cams, hence being able to hit lift earlier. They aren't allowed to go out and state future products like this because of a magazine sponsor they got that wants to announce it first. From what I hear from chris, they have developed almost all of the products that they plan to distribute in the future (I'm guessing many internals too), they just have to find a RELIABLE shop that can produce them on time. So to answer your question: YES, they are working on a new 'toy'(if that's what you want to call their products) and probably have it done by now.

haha i'll second that...

And it's possible to have 2 'lifts' if you call it like one guy up there said...

I'm not sure if this is the right company...but i THINK skunk2 makes some sort of ecu piggyback or something similar for honda's VTEC...i've seen them on preludes...that engages their VTEC on a lower level at say in this case 4500rpm...and then all out VTEC at...what is it 5800 or something? I wouldn't say it's out of the question that they figured out a system to do this on the VVTL-i too... wave

does anyone know the exact DB lvl of the TPR exhaust. I want the best performance I can get, without being pulled over on a regular basis and getting 100 dollar tickets for excessive noise. I was looking at the TRD mainly because people said it was comparatively quiet. the trd I think is 88db or something 95db legal limit I think. And cops just hear you going by and decide if it's too loud or not so don't want it to be too close to 95db either. what's the HP claim on the TPR as well?

ok time to put this to rest.

NO, lift is NOT kickin in at 4500 rpms like you people are imagining. he is slowly excelerating and then you see a very quick pause ( which is the lag from going to WOT) at 4K and what you are hearing is him going full throttle. Then just as he passes 6K you hear lift engage.

I know more then most people about tpr's progress and let me tell you straight up there is no secret mods on that video allowing to hit lift at 4500 rpms.

Now I know there are idiots who are going to argue with me and thats fine I fully expect it. So for the lemmings who wont listen here's your challenge. (I've already done it myself in case someone has the time to actually put some effort into their arguement.)

CHALLENGE: Take anyone of my old videos or ANY video of an I/E GTS, Time how long it takes for them to hit 6K. Then time this video from 0 - 6K. Then compare the numbers and let us know your findings.

If you're gonna make an arguement you beter have some facts cause most people's opinions on here don't mean crap. thumbsup

Im not gonna argue with you because you do make a good logical point. HOWEVER, after i saw this video, i talked directly with Christian (Blue Bomber) and he did say some stuff to me. Don't know if i should say it but basically lift IS kicking in at 4500. ALSO stated that this "x-factor" mod will be out next year and i should get cracking on saving for it. Cams are for sure being developed by TPR and other stuff. TPR isn't just gonna stop at intake and exhaust. They're done with that.. just waiting for the shop to ship. Meanwhile, TPR is developing the full catback exhaust thing with the 2.5" mid pip or whatever so it's a "full" exhaust system. Also headers .. and Cams as evident into Easy C's video/car. But from here, it's basically a moot point cause i can't prove it with paperwork. Even if i could i probably wouldn't be allowed to by TPR. And you can't prove your side either because you can't show me EasyC's car and his mods. So yeah.. i guess we'll have to wait till next year. Or EasyC's response. lol

unless you use a reprogrammer to mess with the ecu the lift engagement point is 6200rpms. The reason our cars are faster than VTEC is because they blow their wad too soon. Its the same with nitrous, if the lift kicked in at 4500rpms it would be dead by the time your in the peak of the power band, not to mention the extra wear on the engine for the increased time of lifting. And why develop that for daily driving? It would be pretty fucking annoying to keep dropping in and out of lift everytime you go anywhere, accelerate, shift, etc. etc.

rofl out of courtesy to chris (easyC) I'm not gonna get into details of what they are planning or why you still wont be gettin lift at 4500 rpms.

I don't talk to blue personally so if he's claimin that I'd like to see him post it. but I have a feeling that wont happen. I am 100% confident that lift did NOT come on at 4500 rpms.

I guess the easiest way is to make a video the same way using my car. and I garauntee lift kics on at 6000 rpms not 4500. but I bet I can make it sound like it smile
