Is there anyone who has speed cut at 120 mph..
My japan import Gts has speed cut at 120 mph and i just ordered Greddy Speed and boost cut eliminator chip to eliminate the speed cut which to be connected to ECU.

Is here any modifications other than extra chip to eliminate the speed cut..

I prefer to not to do anything if i do not perfectly know what i am doing.

this is enlightening-so once we get the power fc or greddy emanage then we wont be cut off and would be allowed to reack our 160 mph?????

Are you saying that all the celicas are cut at 120?

ok you went 150mph with ur car and you still call urself a rookie?
damn, how many miles did it take you to get to 150? were you on lift on 6th? werent you scared? i took it upto 135mph max, and believe it or not it didnt take as long as i thought. but the freeway was uphills and downhills. i even took once at 115mph and almost flipped my car, and i think i learned my lesson then

i know mine doesn't cut off at 120 cool Can we really reach 160 though? I read in some mag article our max is like 145...so 150 is possible i think...but it would be cool to be like yup we can use our whoooole big speedo thumbsup

Oh and guys if you decide to go test this out...just please be careful. It's one thing to get caught and lose your license automatically (for 25+ here in pa...not sure about others)...and another thing to crash your car...but it's a whole different story if you hurt someone else and interfere with their life. Have fun and enjoy your celi's...but be careful please

no n/a celica will hit 160 mph unless going on a steep downgrade for a long period of time.

If you get a ticket going 130 or 140, it's not your parents to worry about. rofl

I went max 135mph on a main rd(not highway) and didn't take too long maybe a mile or so. didn't even use 6th gear, didn't have enough road to go all the way with 6th. But going really fast on the highway isn't as much fun as going 85 on windy back roads.

I can get up to about 130 MPH in a slightly uphill ~1.1 mile stretch (with less than a quarter tank of gas, that is).

Max I've gotten to was 140, and that was nearing 8k in 5th gear... A Celica COULD go 160, but it doesn't have the balls to really pull it that fast (no lift in 6th gear). But on a downhill, you could do it.
Or maybe with enough road on a flat stretch... But it would take some time to get there, I think.

first two attempts I got up to 127 last attempt was on my way home from my lakehouse and I hit 137 (3:30a.m.) then the car felt like it was gliding so I backed off. Any little bump I hit the car would jump... and I would go eek

Haha is there really not a lift in 6th gear???

3 weeks ago i was driving to ca, at about 3 am i wanted to see how fast my car(a gt) would go, there was no one around me, but 1 car that passed me about 3 minutes before going about 105, so i figured i was safe,(he would catch the cops attention instead of me! rofl) so i floored it, i got up to about 127 or 128 on a straight away, and i couldn't go much faster, wasn't too scary though, no traffic, no wind, and no hills. I caught up with the other car pretty quick and then slowed down. So my govenor is set for about 127. My ex-boyfriend had a crown vic and i got that up to about 135 before, but everytime i reached that the govenor would kick in and decrease the speed by about 10mph. The celica didn't do that it just wouldn't go anyfaster no matter how hard i pushed the pedal!

When I had my GT auto I hit 138. O\D off and balls to the wall going down a slight hill. It wouldn't reach that if I didn't have the hill to my advantage. I think I hit like 126 on a flat stright-away.
