I have a 2000 Celica GT, automatic.

Im looking to swap out the engine for a better one. The engine im currently looking at is a 2JZGTTE with twin turbo and 6 speed manual tranny.

My question is, would the engine fit in my car and is it a good choice?

Also, is there a better swap option if this one isnt a good choice.

i don't think you can fit the 2jzgtte engine in our engine bay.

i think the only swaps you can do is the gts engine or the 3gste engine

you want the 3sgte. There is one with 504 hp in florida i believe. But be prepared for an overhaul. The minimum you are looking at is around 10 grand to get the engine up and running. Then you have to build that engine with new internals/ boost. So unless you have deep pockets and lots of time to invest i would recommend a tranny swap and engine build on you GT engine which still isnt cheap but is a lot more practical.

LOL^^

2jz is RWD and RWD tranny. even with extreme customization it would be a questionable fit.

unless you've got an unlimited budget and dont car too much about how it looks when finished you arent gonna get close to getting a 2JZ in there.

best thing you could do if you want turbo and a bit of power is swap the 2zz in, convert to the 6spd, fully build the motor and then slap on the turbo. that'll get ya over 300 whp if done right and will be way more power then you need.

still going to be one expensive project. might wanna trade your car in and get a 6spd gts. could end up a cheaper way to start.

what he meant was civic drivers. they cram just about any engine in their car possible (such as the prelude engine). toyota's aren't as versatile when it comes to swaps. that's what he meant.

Thanks for the info.

I know what you mean when you talk about Honda drivers. I know a bunch of people with Civics and all they seem to talk about is swapping for a B16 or B18. One guy I know had the swap in for a half hour at most before he totaled it.

you can swap in another 4banger that toyota makes...

but a 2jz is a strait 6... its a big engine...

honda people dont swap 6 cyl engines into their civics... they put in more powerful 4 bangers.

how about a 4 cyl. 2.4L camery engine? that would be so nice and the torque would be insane. only thing is it only revs to 6k rpm, and theres no top end
