I'm so f*cking indecisive. My dad told me that my payment cannot go over what I pay now (225) if I get a GTS, but that is nearly impossible with no down payment and a possible trade in. So I'm keeping my GT, unless some out of this world deal comes by me. The only GTS's that I would be able to afford right now are ones with high miles, and I don't want to do that.
I was thinking about it also, and I can just keep modding my GT. I know it's not as fast as the GTS, but it's still damn fun to drive. Then after school I will be able to get something better then a GTS.
What do you guys think of my decision? I know I've made plenty of posts about my sitution, but I got really excited after it was a possibility that I would get a GTS, now I'm just sticking with the GT.

Well if you want the GTS so bad I have a idea for you, have your dad pay $225 and you pay what ever else. so if it will cost $300/month you only have to pay $75 which is not bad at all.

Hmm...seems like you got the impression that my parents pay for my payments right now? HAHA Yeah right! I pay for every cent of my insurance and car payments, he just doesn't want me to have a higher payment because he wants me to have money for other things I need, etc.

Well if you really want the car, cut out spending money on stuff you DONT need. Like eating out, buying stuff for the car. Making sacrifices sucks but if it gets you where you wanna be than it doesn't hurt to slow down on the spending.

If your parents control what you pay for, then you have no business getting a faster car. Enjoy what you have.

I had a 2000 GT, and I traded it in for a 2001 GTS. I'm really happy with it, but I plan on keeping my GTS for a long time. Yes the payments went up from 225 to almost 300. Its just something that you have to decide on and see if its worth it to you. For me it was, but that might not be the case for you. Good luck man!

Just keep it and be happy with it man. As long as it is a Celi, you can't go wrong.
Now get to modding.

Keep the GT. The GT is a great car. I love my MR2...but some days I really really miss my Celica GT.
Dont let the GTS guys bother you...I get to smoke a GTS on a daily basis where I live...and I'm just driving the plain old 1.8 VVTi engine, same as in your Celica...turbo'd of course.
Jokes aside...enjoy your GT. If you want something with a little more kick, invest in a nice turbo kit. I promise you'll have a LOT more fun in with a nice turbo on your GT than you would just driving the GTS.
Peace,...
