Ive ordered one and I'm currently waiting for it to arrive.
Yes its been a pain in the ass trying to get a hold of one these intakes, but I think its going to be worth the wait.
TPRs design and engineering philosophy is sound, they are the only company that Im aware of that figured out how to build a proper MAF environment into their cold air intake so the MAF can give the ECU correct readings thus allowing the ECU to get the proper fuel air mix for maximum power and efficiency with no bogging or check engine light problems. On top of that there CAI easily converts to a short ram.

Does anyone have the K&N intake? How does it stack up compared to Injen, AEM, and TPR?
I read once somewhere that K&N wasn't supposed to bog as much...but barely anyone has it.

I saw one installed on a silver celica about 2 weeks ago... no other details besides the fact that I got to see one with my own eyes

tpr is supposedly better, so it would be worht it to wait.
that said..i've seen a million dynos for the aem intake and only a couple for tpr...so it's hard to say what the actual gains are because there isn't really an extensive testing going on.
that said...a cai is only gonna give you around 2-5 whp anyway (untuned, no exhaust/header)

Sheeeeeit... I guess I should feel special then. I've had my TPR intake since July . If no one believes me then I guess I'll have to take a pic and post it so you guys believe me. It's like a silver colored intake tubing, not shiny at all, with blue TPR letters and blue couplers.

i dunno some ppl swear by tpr, but there just isn't enough evidence volume for me to switch. If you install your AEM properly and make sure all your MAF and O2s are clean CELs aren't a major deal. At least they weren't for me (got 0 on my AEM) but hey it's a decision that's totally up to you.

THe plastic one was for people and CARB. When a cop looks under the hood he might not be able to tell. GREAT Idea if you ask me...but you didn't.

From reading all the current posts by Easy C, He said they are only coming in that black plastic material. He said you can paint it to match what ever your theme is, which I dont see myself doing. Imagine paying for a custom finish and it gets scratched during install I would be . Plus it fading from heat. To me the gains aren't worth the trouble. But then again I want looks and some performance. I don't race so...
