I recently heard what I thought was a gear noise coming from my engine. The noise is made when I release the gas pedal and the gears (loudest 3 & 4) are at about 2000-3000 rpms. The noise immediatley stops when I put the clutch in and/or hit the gas. I brought it to the dealership and they ended up replacing he transmission and clutch, along with bolting down the heat shield... the damn noise is still there. I brought it back to the dealership and they think it might be a regular engine noise. I've heard the engine without the noise so I know it is irregular. They are stumped.

Has anyone had a similar problem with their GTS... or any ideas has to what is going on?

one of the guys who bought a used gts was having a lot of vibrations at 2k-3k rpms. I think it's the same problem with you. Search in the forums. it's not more than 6 pages away...
