I just recieved my car back after getting the engine majorly worked on and now when i drive it around, it wont heat up to the normall running temp. Anyone know what the heck is wrong? I mean, only when it idles sitting still in neutral is when it warms up, but it takes forever. And if i start driving it, it gets colder. confused Can anyone help.

When you say worked on, what did they do? When I got my supercharger installed I needed a new thermostat.

they broke the entire engine down and reassembeled it with all new bearings, wiseco pistons, bluprinted engine, balanced and polished rods, decked the head, and added my bolt-ons ( intake, exhaust, header and apex-i chip.) How much do they cost?

Did you install the TRD thermostat for your car, different manufacture or just OEM. Did you have to run a cooler stat or was stock OEM fine.

I know TRD just came out with one for our cars, which I will be getting soon, since it drops the degree about five numbers. It's pretty exspensive, about $70, but it's worth it.

Did they even put a thermostat in, because if it's not heating up, the water is just flowing through the motor and not giving the water a chance to heat up?

well, the motor will warm up, but not to normal running tempature(unless i keep it idling for like at least 45 min, and sometimes it needs more time). When i drive around, if i keep the rpm to about 4K or higher, the needle goes up as high as 2 marks above flatline, but it's rare that it goes up that high.most of the time its either flatline, or 1 above flatline.(using "flatline" as lowest mark on temp. gauge)
