Well today I was driving with a buddy of mine and I come up to a stop sign and stop behind this guy. The car is on neutral, and my foot is not on the clutch. all of a sudden the car begins to rattle/shake a little I look at the rpms and it was going from 1300 down to about 500 and back to about 1300. The car did that about 2 or 3 times and then I put it in first and I drove off. What do you think could've caused that. Oh if it's any help I'm in Maryland and the temp was about 36 degrees.

Thanks.

It's not bogging. It depends if, was the engine completly warm before you drove it? 36 is pretty damn cold weather. It might be your mafs but I doubt it.

clean your MAF sensor, it's dirty.

You also might want to clean your IAP valve while you are at it.

thanks for the replies guys.
I have my stock airbox on, never had an intake on the car. The car was warmed up, so I guess I'll clean the MAF sensor and follow that guide you guys gave me.

Thanks.

perhaps, do you guys know how much it cost, or perhaps what's involved in a tune up so I can do it myself. So far I've done everything to the car myself, so I don't think a tune up would be that much of a problem.

haha thats funny, my car did that this morning too when i was picking up breakfast on my lunch here @ work. When I was pulling into the drive thru, my car had a sporatic idle for a few seconds and then went back to normal. BTW it was really cold outside too.

tune up and fuel injection servicing will solve your problem. I had the same thing happen to me.
