I have 2 bad o2 sensors...and now the dealer has to replace my catalytic converter...They said that they were about the 30th celica they had to do it for...and I think isaac and a few other people posted about this problem...so heads up if you get a cel...go to autozone, and get the codes pulled for free...

I had the same problem...went to autozone baught there bosch POS O2 sensors and it didn't fix it. Went to toyota baught there O2 sensors which WERE CHEAPER than autozones. didn't fix it. Then I talked to my mechanic at cobb county toyota and we had talked about the ecu being faulty and it was he replaced it free of charge under warantee. He said my car was the 1st to do something like that, but we had talked it out. Cobb county toyota is the best. So don't go and buy another cat, chances are it isn't bad. I don't think you run like 120 octane nor do you have a piggy back ignition system. If the cat did go bad, the only way you might be able to get it done for free is to put your stock shit back on and talk some shit to them about it being a faulty cat

Jtultra, we had our catalytic converters replaced, along with the 02 sensors... when your problem came up, did you JUST replace the sensors, or did you also replace the cat?

Mine started smelling like ammonia - probably your's was melted through and was soon to start smelling the same idunno
