What headunit(Cd Player) is better JVC, Boss, Pioneer?

With head units you really want to research the digital to analog (what you hear)conversion. This is where most of the cd sound quality can be lost or utilized! It can make a huge difference.

All those brands are very good, but they will vary... I've always had great results from Alpine. Try to find a good salesman to explain the specks on each.

pioneer, alpine, eclipse are best

here's my head unit:

-it's a poineer with built in Equalizer and high/low frequency control.

wow^^ thats a sweet head unit! My parents told me I can get a head unit and a stero system set-up for my celica and I dont even have it yet im getting it in middle of january to early febuary! So that makes me happy and good thing is im not even 16 yet so I have time to work on the car!

Also: I like this set up and I dont just want any little box with a sub in my trunk would this fit the trunk and what amp would I need to run off of this?

Everyone says bad stuff about sony, but i've never had 1 problem with anything from them. If you know how to eq audio, go with a sony. thier nicer head units have 7 band eq's in them, and you can really fine tune your system with that. That's what i've got, and i could not be more satasfied(except with a flip out screen)

I just bought my girlfriend a Pioneer 3600 and it is pretty damn cool. It made her CR-V sound system A LOT better. The improvement was freaking huge. I would vouch for Pioneer.

I myself will be getting an Alpine tho, a lot of people speak highly on them.

correction..that's a Panasonic in the picture..not pioneer..just want to point that out if you guy didn't already see it..

O and I used to have a JVC on my Focus ZX3, it was shit (bad type of shit).

Sony is trash..he might've had good luck but the majority of others have not.

Most experts recommend Alpine..though I've never used them.
I've owned 2 Pioneer HU's in previous cars and have loved both..never a skip.

i f i had to pick i would say pioneer-but off of those i like alpine better than them all

Yea, see. I personally prefer sony and pioneer over alpine, I know people that have serious issues with alpine not ejecting cd's and other bull shit like that. But sony, I've personally installed 2 (one in my car and one in my sisters), and both work flawlessly. I've also got a sony 6 disc cd changer(great, no complaints) and a 760 watt sony explod amp, and again, no complaints The high pass filter on that also is great. Most of my friends have either sony or pioneer, and no one complains about sony. I know profesional audio engineers that prefer sony, but like i said, the 7 band eq on thier nice ones is amazing. I do, however plan on replacing it with a pioneer, but that's for the 7" flipout touch screen with 5.1 dolby digital sorround(hey, i'm an audio guy, have to have that kind of stuff) For speakers, yea sony is trash, but thier head units are great. Pioneer has some of the best sounding speakers too.

sony cdx-ca712x(i think, don't feel like checking now)-it's not the nicest, but I don't like mp3's(years of editing audio, i can tell the difference in quality) so I saw no reason to spend more for something that I won't ever use.
It's also last years model, thier newer stuff looks crapy and the flip out ones have more to go wrong with(that's probably were everyone hates sony's from)

Panasonic MXE CQ-C8400U CD MP3 WMA Player

I have the JVC LH3100...its pretty sweet. You can make your own pictures and put them on mp3 cd's and they animate on the deck. It hasn't skipped or anything yet and the MP3's play perfect, i've had it about 6 months. I think the quality of sony, kenwood, alpine, pioneer and JVC are about the same. Then I think Eclipse is above them all.
