I am new with all of this and i dont kno too much about a cars performance and tuning i am learing as i go and through magazines... This is the first car i want to actually do stuff to and i have no idea what and or where to begin. I know i want a CAI but i dunno what to do and get first and what goes along with what... can you please help...where should i start? my car is for everyday driving with a few races here and there in the few months that we dont got snow or ice.. Thanks
id get a sri over a cai get a exhaust and some 17's with snow tires lol

i disagree. Get a CAI instead of a sri. You dont want all that cold air to go to waste . You can also get a trd exhaust. It sounds great and gives out good gains. you could also get a short shifter. trd and twm seem to be popular here. That should run you about 700-800 dollars. Thats a good start.
I might not be up here for too much longer may move in may to flordia or georgia, still unsure tho, does that make a difference? what does the sri do differently than the cai?
yea its better i wouldn't deny that but with all these recent hydrolocknig incidents i would rather play it save a sri with a heat shield isn't bad at all
yes i know chances are you won't hydrolock it from a cai but you know with all the recent ones i would defintly give it a second thought

either one helps your engine breath better. an sri sits closer to your engine, and therefore sucks in the warmer air in the engine bay. as far as what the length is good for, that i don't know. a CAI sits much lower, and draws in the cold air from the wind as you are driving. colder air is more dense, and therefore proudces a better air-fuel mixture. CAI gives a larger increase in power, which isn't much to begin with. the drawback to a CAI is that it is possible to suck in water if you go through a deep puddle, causeing your car to hydrolock or bog. if you want the best CAI, get the TPR one. it has the best gains, and in bad weather can be converted into an sri. the only drawback to the TPR is availability. Another good choice is AEM. people complain about CEL's a lot, so it's hit or miss. Injen is your third choice. Injen provides the best high-end power, while AEM provides good low-end. TPR is the best of both worlds, and the best overall gain. combine the TPR intake with the axle-back exhaust, and you're lookin' at some great bang for your buck.

dont get a header. There's not one out there that is decent and is worth the money your going to pay. I suggest that you hold off on the header for now. TPR is going to come out with something, but its gonna be awhile.
