If you had to choose three extra gauges to monitor your new turbo system, what would they be?

I'm looking at installing three of these style gauges on a Triple full pillar.

Oil pressure/temperature and water temperature.

And this:

http://www.zeitronix.com/

If I had to pick 3 gauges I would do boost, oil pressure, and the AEM UEGO wideband.

http://www.jscspeed.com/universal/electronics/aem_uego.htm

If they all had to match, I would get boost, oil pressure, and EGT.

i can't seem to find any recommended combination in the same style/brand.
especially the EGT gauge.

how do you guys feel about this combo?

-APEXi Super AVC-R II Boost Controller
-Oil Temp Gauge
-Boost Gauge
-Air Fuel Ratio Gauge

or is the EGT gauge an absolute must? wtf

This thing displays boost, lambda, AFR, and EGT.

http://www.zeitronix.com/Products/zt2/zt2.htm

Then you could buy oil temp/pressure, and water temp and be done.

you NEED : boost and (EGT or a/f ratio)... if you get a/f ratio, you need a wideband o2 sensor.

optional but very helpfull: oil pressure, oil temp, water temp.

You get boost, EGT, AFR, and lambda in 1 unit, along with the wideband sensor.

For a turbo car, both oil pressure AND temperature is vital stuff. And, ofcourse, boost.

heres some important gauges i have and you should have;
1. Boost Gauge; so you should know how much boost and vacuum does!
2. Exhuast Temp Gauge; so you should know how the temp heat output in your exhuast!
3. I tachometer with shift light;so you could adjust and know your limits to prevent from turbo or engine damage!

some of this you needed to like;
AFC; APEXI version 2 would act better
Boost Gauge; not really!becuase you'll be tempted to set high boost which mean you in high percentage of damaging your engine for your pushing it to its limits
i have oil temp, oil pressure and water temp but its not really that important when it comes to turbo becuase AFC already doing his job to adjust all of those anyway we already have that in stock,i say its up to you if you want it it may help like everybody says! thumbsup

How about this setup,

$479.99 Greddy Profec E-01 Electronic Boost Controller: I heard this controller hooks right up with the Greddy e-management system. No laptop required.

oh yeah, does anybody recommended possibly this: http://www.rageracing.net/Defi/Linkdisplay.htm

-Auto Meter Gauge, C2 Series, 2-1/16" Boost Gauge, 30 Psi, Mechanical
Includes sender and 8' harness $157.00

-Auto Meter Gauge, C2 Series, 2-1/16" Pyrometer Kit, 0-1600 Degree, Electrical
Includes probe and 8' of wire $125.00

-Auto Meter Gauge, C2 Series, 2-1/16" Oil Pressure, 0-100 Psi, Electrical
Includes 1/8" NPT electric sender, 1/4" NPT adapter fitting, and 8' harness $155.00

or

S7 5" TACH * 4-in-1
The Multi Tachometer utilizes all of the same design features as the standard S7 Tachometer as well as intergrates oil temperature, oil pressure, and water temperature measurements into the background of the gauge.
Built it Shift Light & External Shift Light

Then also run two extra gauges: for EGT and Boost.

Do you even need a boost gauge when you have such a sophisticated boost controller like the Greddy one noted above?

if you have a turbo kit you are going to want to get good gauges. id do the blitz ones or the greddy ones. and make sure you install them the good way.

i have to say, i wasn't expecting this many variations of three.

it's looking like the combination i'm leaning towards is:

electric Boost/vacuum
electric EGT
&
electric Oil Temp

in Auto Meter C2 Series.

i guess if anybody thinks one they mentioned is crucial,

reply again and explain your justification.

I just fitted:

- Greddy (Oil) Temp Gauge
- Greddy Oil Press. Gauge
- Greddy Fuel Press. Gauge

Question:

I have a stage 1 C2 Turbo
After a (not so aggresive) ride what is a normal oil-temp value?

If you really want to protect your investment you wont cheep out on the gauges.

Boost and controller
timer
oil temp
oil psi
water temp
fuel psi
EGT

when it comes to an aftermarket F/I car you really cant go with out any of them, in order to foresee problems and diagnose them you need to know what everything is doing at all times.

i agree,

this is what i truley ended up going with:

-Auto Meter C2 Boost/Vac Gauge
-Auto Meter C2 EGT Gauge
-AC AutoTechnic S7 5" TACH 4-in-1 Multi Tachometer intergrates oil temperature,
oil pressure, and water temperature measurements into the background of the gauge. Built it Shift Light & External Shift Light
-GReddy PRofec E-01 Boost Controller
-Greddy Auto Turbo Timer thumbsup
