I want to get a super charger for my GTS. I know it is counter productive because I more than likely will loose the ability to use my VVT-I (similiar to the GSR with turbo that turns into a GS). What do you all advise? Also, how much would I be looking to spend? Five grand is what some of my boys are saying. rice

Blitz has a supercharger available for sale, but I think its almost $6500. I read the review in turbo magazine a few months ago and they give you a ton of replacement parts for your engine. Also, its a 3psi supercharger with only a 30hp gain at top end. But they were testing a japanese version on diff octane than what we'd use here, so it may vary. I hear TRD is working on a supercharger that may be available around the March-April timeframe. When in doubt, go with TRD.

i dn't know about losing your ability to use vvtl-i (how would that happen?) the only thing that i know for sure is that in order to achieve a boost that is actually worth it, you would definately have to lower your compression ratio by getting lower compression pistons. the gts's stock compression ratio is probably too high to run more than 3psi.

i dn't think it would be counterproductive because you will definately end up with more torque with the supercharger.

i was doin some espionage on the matrix/vibe board and one person that talked to TRD said that they canned the supercharger projects for both the 1zz and 2zz engines. hopefully this isn't true.

i do know that there is a supercharger made by GM intended for the vibe that shares the same engine with the celica GT. whether it fits in the celi or not, i do not know...

If you guys want to lower your compression on a GTS, I found a site that has aftermarket pistons that reduce comp. I dont know what it comes down to, but i think it was around 10-1. I can dig up the website if anyone is interested.

Why not a turbo? If you need pistons or rods (ca. 500, 800 USD)or bolt on turbo, contact: http://monkeywrenchracing.coml

TRD did can it, but reconsidered. My father owns a Toyota dealership so I know what's goin on a lot. But anyway, in Automotive News Magazine, there was an article on TRD and what Toyota is doing with it. Well, what I remember it saying is that they abandoned the Kazuma line and that they aren't going to sell body kits anymore. They are looking into performance mods now and would rather do that for your toyota vehicle rather than appearance cause they said that other aftermarket manufacturers are already soo far into it that there is no point for TRD to try to get there if it can't happen. So they said they WILL make a supercharger for the 2zz engine, the GTS model Celica and the XRS model Matrix. If you didn't know, the Matrix and Vibe are the same exact car with different appearance and such. Toyota and GM partnered to make them with each sharing US and Japan parts. So look forward to more performance parts from TRD soon. I can't remember anything else but hopefully I helped!

I emailed monkeywrench today and they claim they dont have a turbocharger for the celica. Who gave you that info C2Gas?
