Got into an accident. I rear ended a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. U never think it will happen to u. This really suks ass. I don't think the damage is too bad though. Engine still sounds smooth as hell. Gonna need a new hood, fender, front bumper, entire headlight(just put on PIAA bulbs), clear corner lens, rim got all scratched up, driver side view mirror. Who knows what else. Front wheels are facing opposite directions so it was undriveable. Got towed. I have good insurance & got the car towed to a place that has experience with customized cars. Hell of a Christmas present. Anyways, I have 3 pics right now from my camera phone so plz excuse the quality of the pics.

wow that sucks...how did you rear end him? I figured someone would ask that. Well...when he passed the intersection, the light turned yellow & by that time I was at the middle of the traffic light myself but it turns out that there were a bunch of cars in front of him & he had to break so when I braked behind him it was too late. I slid & rammed my Celi into his Cherokee...I swirved to the right & slammed my brakes but I straight slid into the Cherokee. My driver side slammed into the Jeep & well...u saw the damage. I got a ticket for following too close which I think is bullshit. All in all...it is my fault...I was cited for following to close. The other driver was cool with it...he was an old guy that just bought the Cherokee like 3 weeks ago. I pulled out my insurance card & he felt good that I am fully covered with Allstate. He knows that my insurance will cover him fully. His damage is minor. My damage is a lot worse than his.

I'm so sorry to see/hear about your Celica!!! I actually saved a picture of your car on my computer because it looks so great. Thank goodness for insurance though. Here's a good story for ya:
I was working in a bad part of Los Angeles when I heard a loud crash. Looked outside the window and saw a car backing away from my parked Celica. Turned out this Nissan Sentra was speeding down the street, crossed the middle of the road and slammed into my Celica, making my car look almost exactly like yours. My buddy chased the hit and run driver in his car, but lost it in downtown Los Angeles traffic. The body shop estimate was at around $3500, but "only" had my $1,000 insurance deductible. I practically got a whole new front end. The irony of it all was that I was going to get the front end painted after driving in the winter from Los Angeles to Denver, CO and coming back with about 100 paint dings from driving behind big rigs there and back. For $1,000 I got the paint job and a whole front/left side. Good luck with your insurance company.

I had the same thing happen to me a few years ago when I was driving a GMC truck. The other guy had a big Dodge Ram, so my headlights slid under his bumper pretty much. He hopped out of his truck right afterwards and said he was fine. The cop asked him if he thought his truck was driveable or if he needed an ambulance, and the guy declined. His tail light cover was gone, and his bumper was dented, and maybe had a scratched tailgate. The dude drove away just fine, but then my insurance told me he claimed $12,000 on his truck and $6,000 personal injury. I was like BULLSHIT, but it was too late, my insurance already cut the check.  So be happy if you don't get hosed by that Cherokee driver, but still sucks about your car!!

Thx a lot everyone. Insurance guy is going to assess the damage tomorrow. Bad part is that the rims aren't covered & it got messed up. I actually had to take the bus.

I rear ended a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Say HELLO to paying Higher Insurance coverage  Did you learn anything? For instance...that you should not Ride peoples asses? How about that you should stay 2-3 car lengths away from the driver in front of you to help prevent rear-ending  Well hope all works out w/fixing ur car
