seriously though, you only live once so do wutever you want and who cares wut others think. first of all ur not old, and second if you consider urself OLD then its always cool for an old man driving a celica who knows a lot about the car and is an enthusiast (which is why ur on this site). seriously think about it, when i see elder ppl drivin a car they know and start talkin bout it i get amazed and give them props.
i would honestly say that m3 and 5 series fits ur age better though, because at ur age someone wants to show theyre mature and look rich, and theres no way doin that better than a 5 and M3.

on a side note, my dad was driving the car yesterday on a street and i noticed everyone passing by us and cutting us off looked awkwardly in my car tryin to see whose the driver. funny thing was that he wasnt driving dumb nor slow. i wonder if they noticed a weird driving or just wanted to know whose the driver inside.

but if you have the money, i would say buy a 5 series and not an M3 and modify the hell out of ur celica with turbo and all that. why not an M3? cz you wanna make ur celica faster than M3 and you dont need an M3 so whenever you feel like riding fast you can hop in the celica. plus whenver you drive the 5, ull wish to drive the celica smile

^^He's a working man. Do you think he has the time to "mod the hell" out of his car? Most ppl here are high schoolers/college students and they don't have time/don't know how to put mods into their cars, even if they had money.

I'm 43 and I love driving and modding out the Celica. I don't feel out of place. Who said its a teenagers car? I manage a restaurant so I work with a lot of younger people who mostly wish they could afford a Celica with the insurance and all. There aren't many around where I live so its kinda exotic to everyone. Other people my age and older don't think badly of me because they know I am just a car enthusiest. I have had many, many, cars and many old muscle cars, and the Celica is a really good looking sporty car that is a blast to drive, and I don't think just because you get older you should settle for some shitty Buick or something. And while M3's, and beemers and all that are nice, the sport-luxury thing just doesn't appeal to me. As for Vipers and Vettes, etc, would LOVE it but can't swing it while raising the kids. Anyway, my .02

Age is a number, how you feel is a mind set and how your present yourself and the impressions from others is up to how you are.
---------

My mom is turning 49 this upcomming March, she drives a red 2002 Celica GTS Panasonic Edition, it comes with a full TRD body kit and spoiler, red & black matching interior and she will race most any one up to a certain speed. She loves her car, in fact it's become her dream car she is so happy with it.

A lot of "older" people do drive the nice BMW's and Benz and Corvettes but they are the only ones who can afford them and they are creating a mold for others to fit in without realizing it. So do what you are attracted to, not what society percieves you as a stereotype.

Although I have to admit, a M3 would be nice.. although the newer ones are kind of big. How about a corvette, porsche, Benz SLK or BMW M3 or Z4, or 350Z or better yet Infiniti G35SC which is classy and luxurious yet holds a sports car character.

Man, don't worry about that age bs. There's this guy right downtown near the beach here who looks just like Santa Clause, who drives a 2004 GTS 6-speed. I raced him once! Needless to say, he won.

Well, I always said that I would respond to every single person who ever posted on any of my topics and I have always done that, but damn, I didn't know that everybody would post something.
So I'll just say thank you to all of you for your posts. They were all good advise and I will sit and consider each one of them. This is a big decision for me because when I buy a car, I keep it for years and I always put a lot of money into them. As most of you know because you have heard me explain how I put over $60,000 into my Celica so many times.
If I get a BMW, I will put just as much money into it as well. Just the way I am.
Anyway, I'm going to go see what kind of deal I can find on some of the other cars you all mentioned now. Thanks again everybody.

I'm 56 and my wife is 51. I drive a 02 GT and she has a 92 black GT convertible. Both are 5 speeds. I drive a pick up to work and in bad weather, but we love driving our Celicas the rest of the time. We don't care what other people think we just enjoy modding and driving the cars. She has helped with the header, stereo, exhaust, short shifter, tails and I'm waiting on an intake(if it ever gets made). You only live once, enjoy it.

That's awesome nasteve. Your wife is 51 and helps you mod your Celica. Now THAT'S a cool wife.

You only live once, enjoy it...That's what I keep telling my wife everytime I buy a new motorcycle. She thinks I should save for retirement...I say "Fuck that" Money is for spending.

So I looked for deals on all the cars you all recomended. It still looks like a mid 90's BMW 528 is going to the one that has what I want for about 10k. Seems that way so far anyway. Still looking though.

I don't want another new car because I'm just going to pull everything off and replace almost every part with performance and aftermarket parts. I should have bought a used Celica since there isn't much on it that is still stock anymore.

I haven't even started to learn about BMW's yet. Does anybody know if the 528 is a good one or not? I know the M3 is the fastest, but it just looks like the millions of other 318's running around,

Spread Eagle,
My profile is also wrong. I wrote my age in my profile and this site wrote my birth date wrong. Same thing must have happened to grcelica. I don't think somebody would want to lie about being 43.

Damn your almost 40? I thought you were 16 from your posts and SN.

It doesnt matter what age, just like Isaac said, its just transportation. I mean I see the Gma(I forgot her sn name but its something short for grandma) she's another member on this site and I see her driving her fixed-up Celica all the time around here, and I give her props for that.

Thanks RacerX225, but I'm not sure if you're giving me a compliment or an insult. Did you think I was 16 because I sound immature or too cool to be old?

You just heard that the other day? Lucky you. I have had to listen to my wife tell me what a kid I am for the past 6 years. You would think she would realize that it's just the way I am and I will never change. No matter how many times you tell me I need to grow up and stop spending all my money on car parts and motorcycles.
I will be a kid until the day I die. Which is probably why I hang out here talking to all these 20 year old people about Celicas and things. What the hell else am I going to do? Bug my wife talking about cars or join some old fart forum talking about boring classic cars.

I'll be 55 next month and love my Celi. Check out my Profile and you'll see that.
I get a Police escort everywhere I go. I got a ticket just after I bought it (speeding of course) and the Cop was bustin' on me, "This is YOUR CAR, it should be your sons' car !!" That's when you know the car looks cool !

mkvirus,
I'm sure I would feel young in Florida, but I already feel much better since I started this topic. I thought there was only one or two people on this site that were the same age as I am. I had no idea there was so many older people on here.
I have even been talking to a few of you for the past couple months and didn't know you were older than I am.

RyOISe,
I wouldn't think that you need to spend so much and get an 02 M3. Why not just spend a few grand on a good used one and trick it out?

sneakers,
I love the fact that cops watch us. Makes me feel like I'm driving something special. When they pull me over and see that I am older and I sound really sorry that I was speeding, they always let me go. I have always been very lucky there.
Love your car by the way. The stock wheels look great chrome and even better on a black car. I was thinking of going with a pearl black once the widebody kit goes on this month.

Creep1234,
Don't worry, I would never buy a new bug. I'm not gay.
I think you're right about German cars. I had an old BMW when I lived in Germany a long time ago and loved it. Very tough and very fast cars.
