I peeled out around a corner (hell, it's new years) and right when I turned the corner there was as cop. Well he just asked to see my license and all that, went to check for warrants, came back and said, "Just be careful and if you do it again your car will be towed and you will be arrested. It's a misdemeanor."

Whew. tongue

can someone explain this to me? How can you get a ticket...or like...what is it for? I know the names but they don't mean anything...who gives a shit if you make your tires chirp a bit? They already have speed limits...but my state of mind is...there's no law about how fast you can get up to that speed limit cool...and when that's my mentality...my shifts are 1-2-6...lol

^^yeah i do the same thing. as long as i don't speed, then i should be okay with 1-2-5 shifting grin . i got a ticket last year in my volkswagon one night because from a dead stop on a rainy day my tires slipped and the cop thought i was burning out. he said normally it's not a problem but because it was in a residential area, he had to give me a ticket. thus furthered my hatred for VW

^^^That's actually worked for me before. In Cincy, it's called "exhibition of speed".

lollol did you tell the cop that? "misuse of power"

its called exhibition of speed. any burning/chirping of the tire will be cited as such.

except when your car jumps up and your tires are in the air and chirps on the way down, then you'll have a reason.

rolleyes

^^ yeah, it all goes to having control of your car. according to them...when you peel out your tires are obviously slipping..so you don't have full control of your car and therefore you are dangerous. sounds stupid, but it does make sense...and obviously chirping your tires is fine.

You can actually get a ticket for going to fast up the the speed limit. it is called "aggressive acceleration". you don't have to be speeding. But if you chirp your tires when you are 1-2-5(6) shifting than you have the possibilty og getting pulled over. Just wanted to warn you guys.

Come on, as stated previously... "hell, it's new years".
Who in their right mind would peel out on that giving date. That's just asking for trouble.
Give a boat load of tickets copper.
There's no need to analyze the situation because it's given in the first post and topic.
You act stupid and you act stupid on the biggest party date in the world your asking for it and the long arm of the law is looking for it.
Plain and simple.

I knew you can get a ticket for peeling out, but my friend told me that you can get a ticket if you don't peel out but accelerate as hard and fast and you can. They can get you for "excessive acceleration". Have any of you heard about that?

If you get stopped for peeling out, can you just tell the cops that you are trying to learn stick shift and panicked so you accidentally peeled out???

Well, that apparently worked for one guy i used to work with. He drove a firebird and burned tires and when the cop pulled him, he said it was his first time driving a clutch. Also, i have heard that it is considered wreckless driving to spin tires. And since wreckless driving is such a broad range of offenses, they can pin that on ya. I got pulled for wreckless driving and the cop didnt even see me when i was driving. He just assumed i was speeding through a neighborhood. Said i was going 40 in a 25. He was an idiot though. Seriously, he looked like a guy from metallica cause he was undercover. Blue jean shorts(tathered at the bottom), white t-shirt and a long gotee. They had the dogs search me and the car. so pissed. I got off though because i came on an accident later that night where i found some dead guy in the ditch and tried to get help and the guys leutinent was there and remembered me. So he just never turned the ticket in. Kinda crappy night. get a wreckless driving ticket, see what happens in a real wreckless driving situation...sucked. Not to mean anything bad, but im glad i didnt know the guy.
