1. took a chunk out of my sideskirt from a curb
2. went to pick a friend up, and was pulling into his driveway and rushed it cause this asshole in a truck was behind me, so the front right just went straight off the corner of the ground and all i heard was BOOM...

so the road took a huge fuckin chunk out of my front bumper and impailed it straight up into my fender, bending it and taking paint off.
then where the front bumper hit the fender, the corner of the bumper is pushed slightly in and so fucked on the corner...

worst day ever, even the night sucked.
idk what to do now frown
i'm going to see if my front bumper and side can be repaired, then i'm thinking to replace the fenders with the Veilside ones if anything.

Damn, that really sucks. Those are the same things I worry about when thinking of buying a body kit. Your car looks awesome, and I'm sure it will look better once it's fixed. Right now I've got your car as my background and it helped me in deciding to buy black rims. Good luck!

nope, but it's gonna consist of sanding down, filling in fiberglass, shaping it, and painting. frown

honestly, because the VS front is so thin and now that it's bent in, not sure where else it could be messed up, that i think it may be unnecesary to fix. frown

Honestly, with those kind of repairs, it still won't be as strong as it would be. And take it from me, I got my front bumper fibreglassed again because of an accident and all those things you've mentioned, but the crack will still appear later on cause you can't fibreglass too thick ya know.

See if it can be replaced, I'm sure wherever you bought it from they'll give ya a good discount if ya just give them the story. If not, then the choice is your's.

Anyhow, good luck eh, post some pics too I wanna see how bad this is. Take it easier on the road next time cause if ya think about it, if the truck guy rear ended you then it's his fault and his money instead of your own. And I dunno how you took out a chunk of your side but yeah. Sorry to hear, sucha beautiful car!

damn bro, and ur car is like my dream for my car. goodluck on fixing it. i think the other guy is right aobut it not being as strong. you may want to jsut invest in a new bumper. for the cost of a new on as compared to fixing it, may be cheaper in the end. goodluck and let us know how it is going.

the very corner of the bumper is barely holding, it would just snap off as soon as you take it off but the corner where the bolt is holding it, not the actual bolt part.

does insurance have any covering of this? or part of it?
because it was from bad roads?

Ouch man. I know GEICO will only insure custom or performance work on cars if it declared at the beginning. Thats one of the reasons I haven't changed anything on my car yet.

You might have a case because of bad roads. Then again because your car isn't stock because of the body kits...etc. you will have a hard time pleasing your insurance company with that complaint unless multiple others have complained before you and filed. The bad roads complaint is very hard even on a stock 92 Saturn in Jersey, if you understand me.

You have always been more than good with those kinds or any kinds of mishaps.
I'm sorry it had to happen to you. Good luck.

wow that friggin sucks bad. Insurance might help, but you'll at least have to pay the deductible and it will be a mark against you because it would go under collision. Now if it had some Deer hair on it...who knows?? j/k of course

Ok Billy, from the looks of the picture, it shouldn't be hard to fix at all. I thought at first the whole sideskirt was broken in half (almost) and that the front bumper had a huge chip or something. But that, it's just like a surface scuff. All they need to do it just relay a bit of fibreglass and you're good to go again. It'll cost you less than buying new bumpers, or it should be from what I know. Then again, different shops charge different prices.

Fixing it should be a good investment, buying a new one might actually cost more in this case. Unless, of course, you're thinking of a new look...AGAIN! Haha, anyhow, choice is your's. Just giving ya some food for thought, tkae care man!

yea. i wouldnt recommend using an insurance company though unless the repaires are going to be over $1,000. if it's less than that i would just do it out-of-pocket because the insurance will raise your risk level..and that may raise ur rates as well if they higher your risk level enough.

i don't have receipts from purchases
i'll find out today what is gonna happen, it would be nice to get a new body kit not AS low, but i still don't mind having VS.

repairs will most likely be around 1k, i had an estimate from a bodyshop to repaint the chipped portions BEFORE i got rid of my celica and that wasn't as bad as this and it was 1k eek
maybe insurance will give us some money and we can do whatever we want with it.
what about fender? does the warranty cover that? or can they bend it back and repaint it? i think my fenders were definately repainted and i didn't know it cause there are two layers of paint on it and that's why my TRD emblem is completely embedded into my fender...paint is surrounding it.

well from past experiences with my brothers car, they have replaced everything and he just went into a ditch...but they should replace everything but ur rates might go higher...but it might be worth it because that VS kit is defitenly worth the money..Id talk to the insurance company! even if you dont have the reciepts its not like you stole the kit so they might pick up the full amount and then like i said minus the deductable...

PS: How much clearence do you have on ur celica from ground to the front bumper and from ground to rear bumper..my kits coming in this week hopefully and i want to be sure its not really low...Thanks
