I just followed the paint guide over at ecelica and deceided to paint my console. I used duplicolor metallic black. I took it all apart and painted everything that was painted in the factory color. I think it turned out nice, just need the ac decals. Let me know what you think. Here are a few pics.

I will take some pics inside my car once I put it back together. Should look really good with my 03 interior.

I want to do the same exact thing.

Can you list the exact parts you need and purchased. How much did everything cost you in the end?

Cost depends on how many coats you use. The cheapest cost for the essentials is $20-30, for one can of primer, color, clear, pack of high-grit sanding paper and bottle of rubbing compound. I used all dupli-color spray cans from the autostore. Here is a pic.

Here are a couple of new pics. This is of the console installed in my car.

I really didn't like not able to see the ac lights at night so I bought another ac trim piece and painted around all the decals. Also painted the ac knobs and the window switch trim piece. Looks much better.

How did you paint around all the AC control graphics? Did you grow the infinite patience and mask them off? I want to do the same with mine so I can see the graphics, but didn't want to waste the time trying to figure out how to keep from spraying them.

he didnt. those are stickers you buy and put them on. look at the pic obove it it shows the ac all painted up. Unfortunatly you wont see your ac any more but its easier then masking it all off smile Goodluck bro, looks awsome

The first time I did it I painted over all the graphics but I didn't like not being able to see the graphics light up at night. So I bought another ac trim piece and just masked little ovals over all the graphics and men, then sprayed the piece. I then took the tape off and went back with a fine tip paint brush and did the detail work and finished it all off with some clear.

I have a brand new set in silver that I didn't use. I can sell it to you for what I payed $12. Or you can get them from b0x over at the other celica site. Here is a pic of what the decals look like.

Looks better without the decals.

They look cheesy, I like the extra effort to paint around them. thumbsup thumbsup
