hey guys i was just wondering one of the guys in my car club was wondering if he can put an 01 celica gt manual tranny exhaust on his 02 celica gt autmatic transmission. he kept arguing w/ me and kept saying no. i told him that he can. he's getting a really good deal on it and i told him to go ahead and get it and he is but if it won't work i'ld feel really bad. so who's right on this, me or him. i think that the manual and automatic both have the same exhaust, so am i right?

there are no such things as manual and automatic trd exhausts. they're all universal.

oh sh*t, i knew i was right. i kept telling him that he can use that trd exhaust for his gt and it doesn't matter if that's for a manual or an automatic. but i he canstill put a 2001 trd exhaust on a 2002, right? also does this whole thing hold true for like even the hks, tanabe, and etc exhausts. i mean the same exhaust for manual or a gt. thnx for clearing this up!

I don't think a GT and GTS exhausts are universal though. Example, can't use a GT exhaust on a GTS and vice versa.

Very much so, the fact that you have an automatic ro manual makes no difference in the exhaust...
.. the GTS has a totally different engine than the GT though and therefore requires a different exhaust.

Example, can't use a GT exhaust on a GTS and vice versa. he meant universal as in there is no such thing as an exhaust specifically for a manual or auto... you are talking about a TRANNY here...and exhaust has to do with the motor...too different things... motor is the same on the GT's, they have different trannies if you have auto or manual... you friend is very very stupid.
