I am going to get a Injen CAI soon, and like everyone else, am worried about hydrolock...i know this has been covered before, but how big of a puddle do you need to go through to have the CAI suck up water. I like in Rhode Island and it rains enough, not like everyday, but it def rains sometimes. So should i go with a SRI instead, is there a lot of difference in power?

The filter sits a good 1' and a half or some above the ground, so you'll have to drive into a lake or somethin for it to happen. I have the Injen CAI and I've never had any problems... I live in Canada so it rains like you would not belive!

yeah the water must be deep, I was changing my filter on my cai and wanted to test the old one. I ran water on it through the hose on my sink and the water hardly got in. this is water under pressure my i add, and i ran water directly from the fosset, more volume, and it seeped in through the top of the filter, so yes you must drive it into a lake or a flooded road. and if your still worried if it rains hard just keep the rpms down, dont gun it

no what you need to do is not remove the inner fender plastic where you cant put it back on b/c i cut mine away mistake anyway the tire threw water all over my filter the whole time i was driving so i made a custom polished aluminum heat/water shield so put that plastic back when youir done and dont dunk your entire front end in a puddle that looks like you can fish is and youll be ok the little watery areas in the tire grooves on the highway are fine

As long as you don't do anything stupid, you'll be fine.
