Just a quick question. I've searched the forum and didn't really find out much about this.
With lambo doors is it hard to get out of the car? It seem like it would be in the way.
Also, I'm guessing that they move out before moving vertical. Because I've noticed there's a lip on the top of the frame that seals the door. I guess it moves around that to open and they seal pretty good when closed? Thanks!

It just takes a little getting used to. I made getting in/out look natural within a few days. Getting your passengers used to it is the trick...

I would recommend not getting your handles shaved; that way you can pull down the door from the outside without getting fingerprints all over it. Car seats may present a challenge, but I'm pretty sure it is possible.

i dont think so, it could be possible, but dangerous cuz think about it, when the door is up, gravity will want to bring it back down and if the door opens sidesways then it'll flap down like a wing and hit someone, something, another car, maybe even you, and all that will damage ur celi.

I have the VDC and i have had only one problem with it. My right shock has died and i need to replace it. It no longer holds the door up if its even slightly cold. I wouldnt trust any kit that says its universal... nothing is totaly universal. The VDC is made for the celica so it fits perfectly. However i think if you plan on keeping your car for some time that you may run through a shock if it is your daily driving car like mine is. Then again it may just be that i got a fauly shock... who knows. Id be intrested to hear what GOLDCELICA has to say about the other kit tho. I have also had a baby seat in my car with the kit on and had no real prob with it. Its about as hard as getting the seat in your car with the stock doors. I got my kit for $1400 and had it installed for $500 but honestly i think its something you can do yourself if you have the time.

That's a good price on that kit but... This is a weld on kit not bolt on. It is also universal meaning it will take more money to make work. To some that's ok, but you'll be up to $1700.00 or more before it's done. Unles you DIY

I've heard from a few people that Decah sucks. My kit is stable. The only thing that worries me is passengers who can't remember that my doors open up. They usually impale themselves when the door stops and they try to get in, so they tend to learn their lesson Despite them not always treating my door so well, it still opens smoother than my driver's side does. Yes, if your car is a daily driver with VDC, you will end up going through some replacement shocks. I have also noticed that the gases inside them don't really like the cold, but I can usually solve that issue by moving the door up and down a few times. I'll be back in FL soon so I'm not worried about that.

To make that "opening up" motion a lil smoother i sprayed my hinges with some WD40, seemed to do the trick with helping break in the doors. I was told that Decha is a "universal kit" so it take a bit of work to get everything lined up properly as aposed to the VDC which is made specicly for the celica. VDC did however steal the decha general layout of the hinge and got sued for it, but VDC improved on it.

That's cool but it's still $1,625.00 USD plus install for those that can't DIY($300-600) and it's the same thing. I don't regret my C2 kit.

i can see passengers being a problem, not treating it well. and girlfriends. i mean, what if you had a fight, and she was getting out of the car, and slammed it open. not up. could that break it? or damage it in any way?

C2 is using a stronger grade of steel now. If my chick managed to break my prototype kit, I would be amazed. And in need of a weaker girlfriend. Edit: I usually get the doors for the ladies anyways. Not because I'm chivalrous, but because I'm looking out for my car.
