i told my friend how i wanted to turbo my 03 gt.. n he suggested i put a supra engine inside instead.. because its well worth it than puttin a turbo kit.. how much do you guys think this would cost w/ installations n do you think it would work.. isnt a supra engine a lot bigger than the celicas.. plus my car is an auto.. =/ so that would probally play a big deal in this situation.. when i 1st got this car.. i thought bout the same exact thing.. but i didnt know if it was possible

the supra engine is way too big for the celica.

but if you had a lot of money to spend, you could make it fit. just like to celica dragsters with the elongated engine bay - i think they have modded supra engines in them thumbsup

Go with 3sgte!! These are the best tune-able engines out there and they were in the GT-Four and some MR2's and they use them in the GT300 race which features seventh gen. shells, and there is also a MKIV Supra by Top Secret who uses the same engine. With that being said you can get extremely impressive numbers out of these engines.

haven't looked into this too much, but if you can swap engine, tranny, and drive train, and sti engine would be great, and would be easier to fit than the supra too. too bad it would cost an arm and a leg

might sound stupid to some people but if your really itchin for a swap i think a 95 vw vr6 would kill a lot of things specialy with a turbo they can make gobs of hp and tq

got to love the inline v-6 (what vr6 stands for)

No need to swap anything man.

the GT alreay has lower compression pistons! Just get a good quality Turbo and build up your motor and it will be really fun man. Plus, when you do a swap it will 98% not run like it use to, probably have problems most of the time.


I'm turboing my GTS, and getting lower compression pistons down the road. Should hopfully hit around 300hp pretty easy.

You know the K20 A2 is almost a direct swap into our cars. they can fit in almost anything. civic's, rsx type S, celicas etc... doesnt matter. honda did this on purpose cause they know how much money they make on people who do swaps.

plus if you wanna go turbo, you can slap on the turbonetics stage 2 and run 10's.

make a post on clubrsx.com and they can give you better info on how to do the swap. and if you wanna stay automatic you can use the automatic tranny from a TSX since it's the same motor thumbsup

theoretically it is possible to drop a supra engine in. if you turn it sideways, it should fit the width, HOWEVER then you'd have to fab transaxles to rotate the direction of power as well. very complicated, but with the right technology and engineering, it should be possible.

Not worth the effort. with an additional 15k with the roughly 13k from selling the car, you could pick up something pretty nice.

I don't think it would even fit sideways.It's a very long engine which is the problem. you could fabricated a new firewall and move it into the cabin of the car of elongate the front end. that's about the only way to do it.

...this has to be the funniest thread i've ever seen. in regards. either mod your gt 1zzfe, or buy another car. in regard you could more than likely spend 6k and get the 2zzge swap and tranny, ecu. motormounts, wiring harness, gauge cluster, but then again if you spend 7g in your 1zzfe u'd spank a 2zz w/ boltons. so yeah that is your option. correct me if I may be wrong but WOW. this is hilarious. i needed a laugh.

well i saw some posts making questons about the vr6 so heres what it is

first a v-6 sepreate cylnder heads normally a 90 degree angle i belive
inline 6 shares one long cylinder head



the vr6 shares one cylinder head but its not in line theres a 15 degree angle
