Painted and sealed my headlights about 2 months ago. At the time the passenger side had been completely fogged over and there was water on the inside so i decided to painted them while i resealed.
Heres the problem. Just noticed the Passenger side headlight is getting moisture again. Not nearly as much and no water, but i know that its not getting in around the seal. Used 100% SyliconeII and sealed them up good. Anybody have any problems with moisure getting in around the healight bulbs? thats the only thing i can figure. I checked them and there all in properly. Not sure...anybody got any ideas?

did you make sure the rubber plug for the lowbeam bulb is securely fastened?

Hmmm I just did the same fix on my headlights...so i hope i don't get that problem again.
I used the same silicone sealer all the way around too and i'm assuming nothing is getting in there...so i'd say maybe one of the rubber gasket type things you put in is maybe loose...or there was some water on the inside in the folds somewhere when you took them off...and when you put them back on it was there again...or if you recall those two L shaped rubber tubey things...maybe when you were washin your car or hit a huge puddle or something...maybe a little water splashed up and got into there somehow? I dunno...all theories..

I'm wondering if this is a common problem. My passenger headlight has carried condensation since I bought it. It sounds like other people are having a similar problem. Crappy.

I'm wondering if this is a common problem. My passenger headlight has carried condensation since I bought it. It sounds like other people are having a similar problem. Crappy. yeah when i researched it myself when i got this problem...i found it was very common. My celi isn't under warranty anymore so i will not go to a dealer to get it fixed...plus...with how many people are having this problem...what's to say that a new celi headlight manufactured the same way at the same place won't have the same damn problem? So i just did the taking them apart and resealing bit myself...and i haven't had the problem again yet. I've only had the 'fix' done for i guess 3 weeks...BUT it has been through a lot of warming up and cooling down as anyone from southeastern PA can attest. It has seen temperatures between 8 and 60 degrees outside in rain, sleet, and some snow...and it has been in an inside heated garage type thing where you can wash your car...and it has been pressure washed with warm water for an hour or two and then driven out into freezing weather...and no condensation SO FAR...so i'll keep my fingers crossed.

when i was looking at celicas before i bought mine, the dealer said that because the headlights are angled in a long slope, it causes condensation more frequesntly than in a standard headlight. so, the reason it's so common is because it has to do with the shape of the headlight...given, it doesnt happen to everybody, but everybody is at risk. you can take it off and re-seal it as many times as you want, but it could still happen.

With my luck, they'll start to melt or something. noone told you to bake it..all you need to do is pre-heat ur oven to 350 or 400 whichever you so desire, for 5mins or until they reach their full temp..then you turn off the oven, i mean turn OFF..by this time you have already unscrew most if not all of the screw from ur headlamp, and remove any removable part..then put them in the oven for 15mins..since the oven is OFF it will NOT BAKE further more, the oven will just cool down but with enuf heat left to heat up the glue and melt it..no worry, if you follow the guide correctly, u'll do fine..i did it over 5months now and nothing's wrong with mine, no moisture or nothing..i highly recommend that if you decided to do the oven method you should familiar urself with the instruction...by this i mean read it over and over and over again and dont leave out anything..this will fix ur moisture problem if you do it RIGHT the first time...while u're at it, get some paint and paint ur headlight too..

Condensation comes from moisture inside. The shape has nothing to do with how moisture got into the headlight unit. If it was the shape of the headlight, then BOTH headlights would have condensation in it. Tell your dealership to go to school and pay attention next time. Fu*kin moron. Sorry, stupid people make me really mad (the dealer in this case, not you cwsample).

Why only passenger side? I don't really feel like arguing...it's just shitty that it happens..

some one said something about putting the water absorbtion stuff in there, aka as silica gel, its a delacatescant, i wouldnt do that cause you would have shit in your head lights, yeah it would take away some moisture, but still...also the other night i tried using a blow dryer and it worked great. i think this problem occors whenever we wash our engines...each time i wash mine, condensation appears. but whatever, im sure there are many reasons to why this happens. but i wouldnt listen to a sales person at a dealership. no offence to them...
