Celica Forums General Discussion General somethin i'm tryin that's pretty cool

taking high-res pictures of people's cars, applying a little bit of graphic touch to them, adding text in cool fonts, or whatever else people want.. then i take it and have it blown up to a large size and placed in a frame. and then you have a poster-like picture of your car to hang on your wall.

here is the one i just completed for louie. we're taking this out right now to get it all finished. i' gonna get it to like an 18x24, or possibly even 24x36 size and i'll post pics of it in the frame later.



anybody who wants one of these i can make one just pay for a frame and like $3 for the enlargement and i'll come up with something cool using pics of your car. once i get this one completed i'll know how well it works and you can all see if you think it looks good.

w/ louie's pic i touched it up for sharpness and made his car black and white, leaving the background in color.

what i've done w/ these two isn't that complicated so i'm sure no one is that impressed. i just did these very quickly. i can do cooler stuff w/ the graphics. and some people might just want a good picture of their car un-altered.

thats cool as hell, my question is, how did you seperate the car from the rest of the pic in order to make it black and white...i was thinking of doing this myself, I have photoshop cs...

I was thinking about doing that, but when I checked out prices to actually print them out, I would be broke, lol. Rather buy a mod.

i can do the enlargement for pretty cheap. i use macromedia fireworks to do all this.

The grass is really green.

If my car looked that good I would do one myslef lol my car isnt quite up for something like this yet.

I think you got a pretty good idea there...

only downside i can see is that people need a high res shot of there car

not everyone has a camera capable of printing anything above a 8x10
with that in mine my can go to a 20x

I was wanting to do this as well. Sorta like the car posters where they have a big picture and then little pictures of the car along the bottom. If it turns out good I would be interested.

to get a poster size picture thats clean you'll have to get a really big picture ive been experimenting with stiching pictures togeather so i take a picture of a part of my car at 6mp and another part and so on so that each on of those can make a 20 inch print all togeather they'll make a 40-60-80 inch print

the grass isn't altered the car was just put into alpha, so it stands out a lot more. louie's pic was taken w/ a 5.0 mp and i use a 3.2. i've done enlargements and they look perfect up to 18x24.

do you want me to try do so something like that using your pics? i can give it a shot and if you like it, and like how the first framed one turns out, i could create you one.
