I own an Automatic GTS. The only performance mods that I have on my celica are an Injen Short Ram and a Tanabe exhaust system. I read a thread about a month or two back about someone on this website who installed a TRD supercharger on their automatic celica for just under 1000 dollars. Since my car is a GTS and if I were to get a supercharger, would I have to disengage lift somehow ? I really would like to eventually get the TRD supercharger, but Im afraid of having to do away with lift. And two more questions, where could I purchase the TRD supercharger for under $1000? And where do you recommend me to install the TRD supercharger that would still be under my 60,000 mile warranty? Thanks alot. Any suggestions are appreciated. -Patrick

the TRD supercharger ran $1350...without accessories or install...it was around $3500 with everything you need, including the install...and the bad news is that it only works on the GT...the only one made for the GTS is the blitz supercharger and it runs for like $5,000...

yeah... its rough... however... you can also check the recent thread titled TTE compressor...supposedly they supercharged the 2zz corolla...you could call a dealer or email one, and have them ship the compressor to the states, and get an apexi pfc to run it... but I promise it is still gonna be more than a grand

there is no TRD S/C for the GTS... We've been through this before... and yes the TRD S/C does break Warrently! Your going to need a hood and get it tunned with teh E-Manage but since the TRD S/C won't even work on our car... SO I think a better question would be will the Blitz or Trail Be better

i think he meant won't work as a bolt on, it requires a lot of ECU work.

everything is still under speculation. that TTE compressor might be a godsend to us U.S. based 2ZZ-ers...but i'll believe it when i see it.

Since the TRD S/C doesnt fit the Celica ECu it will viod the warrenty on the car. Talk to SlvCeli...

I had mine installed at the dealer and both S/C and the car were still under factory warranty Yeah you were more like the exception, where for whatever reason they went against the typical procedures toyota follows. TRD specifically says that any part not made for that specific application will not be warrantied. Since it is using e-Manage, you would have to have them hook it up, which I cant see very many toyotas doing (if any others really) running on stock ecu, and then go hook up the e-Manage and hope that toyota doesnt find out. I mean I guess you could find a cool dealer but good luck with that . As for the 12 month warranty for the sc not installed by the dealer, you could MAYBE get that but I am not sure about that either. Once again you would have to go through the hassle of having e-Manage and them not saying anything. I dont know the procedure for getting work done from something that goes wrong with your car under warranty. But if there is no checks then you could get lucky with them not even knowing that its not for the celica but you can't count on that. Especially when the last thing they want to do is work on your car. Obviously if something goes wrong with your car they would have to prove it was from the supercharger though under the magnusson act (if you fight it because you dont really think its from the sc).
