If I'm not mistaking the 3ZZ runs like a 12:1 compression which would be better for NA instead of FI...

My car is gunna be 10x faster than yours...haha... I'm gunna buy like 10
of those speedchips! I figure if 1 gets me 20hp then 10 will get me 200hp!

the 3zz is a marketing tool by trial. it's a combination of the 1zz and 2zz. it's supposed to put out more torque. it's also listed as 13:1 compression but I'm sre you can change it to anything you want.

IMO, you're better off stickin with the 2zz.

I've known about this Trial 3ZZ for a while and often wondered about its viability as a real "next step up" given that it reads (in their presentation) as a "logical" progression but at a cost that seems, to put it mildly, high. Also, I visit this site (everythingcelica.com) pretty much everyday (overall, no other Celica site comes across as much like a family community as this one does) and, even though I seldom post myself (I'm an older guy and not all that talkative cool ), I read a LOT of posts. Consequently, there are members, regular post-ers, here that, I've learned, know what they're talking about and make an honest, hard working attempt to stay knowledgeable. Lucky is one of those who over time has earned my respect when it comes to discussing "smartly" improving the Celica's performance. So, this post REALLY caught my eye and, therefore, Lucky, I would really appreciate further expansion on what you said about the 3ZZ. Not because I'm questioning it, but just to learn your thinking behind it. Learning what I don't know is one of the best ways to keep on the right track for balancing out money invested with performance gained. And, its not like my check was in the mail to Trial by any means, thats way more than I can I just pull out of my pocket at any one time, but I was really thinking (hoping?) that they had researched a "smart" performance upgrade plan for our wonderful little cars.

(And, yeah, one of the reasons I don't post much is because I'm long-winded. grin )

i was looking at stock http://www.bpidirect.com/e-shopping/e-auto/toyota/altis.html

so next time before you try to get cocky think it out

according to your link
Compression for the kit is raised to 13:7.1 but it can be left at just a little over stock or even lowered.. The higher compression increases power but would cause problems with lower octane gas. You may also special order low compression pistons
