I was just on a website like cruthfields and it has all different kinds of car audio amps. so I was wondering what is everyones/anyones opinion as to what is the best amp and around what watts rms is just rite for the celica(as in not so powerful to drain the car but good enough to power some nice subs)...would 1000rms be a lil over the top? or if you have a nice combo like audiobahn sub with a kicker amp or something... any feedback will help wave

i hope you were just looking at amps on crutchfield..i would never buy from them (prices are outrageous!) what amp you get really depends on what ur needs are for. whether you want to power each sub with a separate amp or if you want to use a full range amp to power all of ur speakers plus a woofer. as far as brands are concerned...audiobahn and pioneer top the cake in my opinion. try looking for what you want..then go to an ebay store (they usually have better prices) also its better to go by rms power. peak power is irrelevant if you plan on listening to music for an extended period of time.

your celica should be able to handle 1000 rms without much of a problem..i wouldnt go much over that though. also you might want to check whate battery you have. if you own a gts or if you have the "all-weather" package on your gt you should be straight. thumbsup

Crutchfield has been around for years man, there service is the greatest. My bro blew one of his subs and a week later he got another one in the mail free. They may be overpriced but their service is the greatest.

The absolute BEST would be Sinfoni, followed by Brax, Helix, Bulter, etc, etc. But for us in the real world, Phoenix Gold, Alpine, Kicker,JL Audio, even some of the older Sony ES Mobile stuff (before the xplod stuff came out). Never said what you are looking for though; sound quality or spl!?!?

Us Amps USA-6000, 6000rms @ 12Volts. With 16volts it does close to 7500wrms.

I just checked it out and it sounds pretty neat. It has a hella features, too bad they didnt have a full pic of it tho, also its a lil over the wattage that I need to power the 5000 watt sub i'm gettin soon.

It all comes down to your needs...If you r going for blast the shit out of anyone else amps, then look for Macintosh and JL AUDIO...If you are just want some bass in your car like the rest of us, then go with PPI,Eclipse and alpine..All very good makeds and sound hella clean..But remember, your amps will only be as good as your wiring, headunit, subs and enclosure so make sure you dont go cheap on any one of these key elements otherwise you can kiss that $1000 amp goodbye, it will sound like a pepboys clearance special amp...IM NOT BS YOU..DONT GO CHEAP ON ANYTHING and you will be bumpin like the pro's thumbsup And please dont forget the dynamat..If you want ppl to hear your rattle instead of the bass when you roll down the street and laugh at you, then be cheap..Dynamat or any other one of the few brands out there is a deff must too...specially if you like to crank it up like me thumbsup

I didn't use Dynamat. The only rattle you hear is from the licenseplate. And that will be easy to solve with some insulation tape. Then again, I don't have a dB-Machine. I prefer sound-quality above dB's.

I went for alpine type R's all the way around, two 12's each powered by its own alpine amp, i think its the mv300 or something 300 model, and type r component speakers with separate tweeters, sounds extremely clean and has enough power to wake up the neighbors, also have a nice alpine head unit too so that helps out the sound a lot.

the hardest part to reproduce at any level is the midbass, oit is so funny to see a guy with a set of 4's and 4 15" subs thinking they shit sounds good
