The Eclipse is something I will be looking at this Summer... but a new Cav? Is that a concept or is it really coming out? I thought they were killing it to make room for the Cobalt

At least it isn't as bad as the concept. That thing was hideous, they seem to have smoothed it out some.

A new craze in aerodynamics is the "tear drop" style, which began with the 350Z. The new Eclipse is trying to feed off of the popularity of the Z and, well, this is the product...

I personally don't mind the looks. I am more concerned about the engine. We'll see just how fast that car is soon. If I do want one in the end, I'm going to wait to hear about its repair shop history.

the eclipse looks alright. I read that it is supposed to have like 450hp. But that was the concept. So, who knows. it might go down to like 250hp.

Probably you're thinking of the Ion. Already out for several years. The Sky is for real:

Lol. I really want to see this mitsu go into production. Are you sure it's a supercharger? I might've read that it was a turbo. Either way, I like seeing electronic parts make their way into cars.

I think the Eclipse became ruined once they abandoned AWD & Turbocharging. But here is some better pics of the Eclipse. It looks even worse then the red one posted. Once Mopar got more control over it, they really wrecked it. 3G and now 4G...hmm, not too impressed. Power comes from a 190-horse, 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine or an available 260-horsepower, 3.8-liter V6. Same engines as in the Galant. I doubt 260hp from a 3.8L V6 is going to make it that fast, since the car is already heavy plus the weight of a 3.8L ain't gonna help that much.

I ain't feeling that side mirror, looks like it was added on at the last minute off a Chrysler sedan. Also the extra 1/4 window in the front... thumbsdown Side profile looks too weird for my taste with a big bulge ass in the rear. The fender bulges look overkill.

Eclipse is fugly, it may have like 250bhp+ but it's still ugly. The Saturn Sky is something GM decided to bring over, it looks very much like the Opel Steedster and Vauxhall VX220R (think that's the model) but apperantly it's not the same. None the less the car is beautiful inside and out, 170bhp and it's light.

Mitsubishi is in financial trouble. That doesn't mean they're going to dissappear. Someone may purchase them and help out that financial issue. Why would they stop producing EVOs and Eclipses?? Those are the company's lifelines.

that 3.8l v6 is a strong engine. I raced one in a galant, and only pulled about one car into 3rd. it wasnt until fourth gear that I started pulling, probably because it was an auto. The new eclipse should be good competition for the celica gts.

Let's not forget Mitsubishi's shoddy historical mechanical reliability with ALL of its models. I just don't see this company about to "turn the corner" on quality, especially given their ongoing major corporate integrity problems overseas...BEEEEEWARRREEEEE!!!!! eek

i like the eclpise looks like a bit of the old style and the new body ones are fugly so this is a step up and with those aggresive looks that eclpise better be packing maybe they will revert back to the 4g63 in some form or another though it looks pretty heavey they will prolly go v6 whatever that thing is its not a cavalier cobalt replaced cavalier and that saturn i dont think will ever be a production car

Yeah, gotta agree. The turbo was nice. This new thing is OK, I guess. You won't see me driving one though, that's for sure.

I find it amazing that Mitsubishi is still designing cars - I wonder if they will be around much longer than 2006 tongue

Didn't Daimler Chrysler just recently pull out of Mitsubishi Motors' restructuring plan? Currently Daimler Chrysler holds 37% of MMC and is going to treat Mitsubishi as a discontinued business until a buyer can be found, according to Daimler Chrysler.

Yeah, Daimler Chrysler made a huge blunder purchasing Mitsu. I read somewhere that it is most likely that they're going to pull their share, wait for Mitsubishi to go under, then completely buy them out, owning 100% of the company. Kind of an evil strategy, but whatever works.

Hey I heard that Mitsu in Asia has a real negative Rep. Like Ford in North America, a lot of there products have killed there drivers, either through something catching on fire, not protection passengers in accidents, those kinda things. And they got lawsuits up the wazoo.

I like the new mitsu. Its got a good back end.

I like that sky dealy too. Its got a semi caddillac look to it with the sharp lines. Knowing GM its just a solstice in disguise. Looks good either way though

i liked the concept engine better. I want a 100hp electric and a 100hp gas so I can get nice gas milage and 200hp when I want it. just a side note but evos are the ugliest sports cars ever made by man.
