I'm considering doing the exact same thing to my TRSM, went to 2 different muffler shops and they said it's gonna take 2 weeks to get the pipe made (mandrel bent). So i'm gonna call around some more and see if anyone could do it faster. It will be loud but not Kazuma loud!

Why are there desible level restrictions for cars but not for bikes. It's not fair.
I'm gonna take your little Civic. Dust it off. Turn it sideways and stick it straight up you candy A*s.

yeah harleys pass my house and shake the whole damn house...it's really ridiculous how they can be as loud as they want...and muscle cars don't often get pulled over...it's always the 4-bangers... I even got pulled over just so the cop could listen to it to see if he thought it was too loud...he just sees a bigger pipe and pulls me over...wtf?!

not 100% sure but think it's cause it would be rediculous to put an appropriate muffler on a motorcycle. think about how big even a performance cheapo straight through muffler is, not to mention a stock car muffler it'd take up half the bike. I think they also have noise laws though it's higher like 105db or something. I know people who have no mufflers at all on their bikes and still don't get in trouble though. Just stay away from the coffee can style mufflers and cops won't "see" how "loud" your car is. did you guys hear about the new noise laws? it used to be they had to test the noise on your exhaust to give you a ticket.. now they can just give you a ticket if they "think" it's too loud. of course you can fight it and win if you get it checked out at a checking station, but big pain..

Vehicles under 1000lbs or over 6000lbs(?) don't have noise restrictions. Bikes and giant trucks are easier to regulate than all of the everyday cars on the road. They're also smaller and harder to see than cars, so the fact that they make a lot of noise is also a safety factor.
