This was another set I had in mind instead of Tokico, of course the price is more but you get a really great quality set, reputable company, looks nicer and it says ride height adjustable.

Now I am pretty sure we run on struts, and this says it comes with shocks.. although shocks and struts are almost interchangable in name, so would I be safe with this kit? In terms of being safe I am meaning that I won't have to worry about the suspenion blowing out on me early like I would if I just added lowering springs and no shocks/struts.

I read somewhere that over in Japan people think Tein is not that great of a company, but over here people think is a good company. I myself bought the Tein S-Tech springs, so I would say go for it and yes the Basic Damper comes with shocks and the coil overs.

they are only cheap because they dont come ajustable or with pillow mounts (i believe)..unless your planning on doing track events and want to fine tune your suspenion for that purpose..these will be just fine. thumbsup

pfcnguyen: They don't come adjustable? Eh? It says they are adjustable though...

GTS_Rush: There is a place that does sell them locally, I e-mailed a local shop/garage a number of months ago and they do have them.. I could probably look around for the shop and let you know. If you go to www.revscene.net [revscene.net] there are a bunch of sponsor and at least one of them for sure sells them, it may be either A&J or Velocity, as for the price I don't remember.. for some reason I am thinking I was quoted like $1800 with install, but I also may completely off.

The shop I was going to for the Tokico HPK I went to today and they didn't deal in TEIN but gave me a phone number for a place in Surrey called Lower Riders, I may give them a call. But I may end up not doing mods as usual but this time it's because my entire work staff may get fired.. including myself of course, thus meaning I have to reserve excess money incase I can not find a job, godamnit.

Vampyre, I checked with A&J and they stop carrying TEIN..I'm going to try Velocity. But yeah, I may not go for it, perhaps just get the Tein Springs only for now, I'm low on $ right now too. frown

Try REV Competition, I was going through a bunch of local shops websites last night and I think it may have been them.

Just going to go with Tein S.Tech then? What about your shocks/struts?

Yeah I found out REV can special order it... I may have to run with the stechs+stocks until they close to blowing out, then change it. Since the car is almost new, I'm hoping it last to a year at least. But I'm trying to save up extra money so I can get the proper TEIN setup.

$1200 installed for Tein Basic Damper kit? If so that's pretty good.. but there has been a lot of bad talk about MFRT, especially if you go to revscene.net

my cousin has a 2003 acura CL type S..he has the TEIN SS Kit..as of 2 weeks ago..his shocks gave up on him and he had it for no more than a year..its weird..teins were almost brand new..but the main reason was we live in chicago...the cold weather and he doesnt drive out his CL much.so its been sitting in the garage forever...with the cold weather..jsut sitting in there..it made the shocks brittle...and fluid started leaking out...

vietnamese2004, thanks for the info! I'm gong to check that out too...

Babyboi419, you always taking a chance when buying something used, you don't know how someone else drove there car with it or treated it. Sounds like your cousin bought it used right. If it was brand new and this happened, then I would be more concerned about TEIN's reliability.
