oops forgot, GTS, Auto transmission, anything special needed to be done to install the intake?
(providing the engine lasts longer than 35k miles)

http://216.102.149.4/cgi/everythingcelica/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=17;t=000007That webpage is the installation instructions for the RMM intake. I don't know what you mean by "special" but I don't see anything of concern in the instructions to install. [ 09-10-2002, 09:33 PM: Message edited by: Steven ]

this page explains my concern: http://www.rodmillenstore.com/celica/automatic.htm It's a side note about the Auto trans installation. The only problem is that it mentions the need for 2 silver hoses which confuses the parts list both in the package and on the various web sites mentioning the intake. the picture also features 2 silver silicone hoses. Also does this void warranty or can it slide by as a 3rd party air filter under whatever law that was passed many years ago?.

Did you get your RMM intake used? If not, it should have came with all the parts you need to install. If you don't have those 2 silver hoses, use the existing black ones. If those don't work, go down to your local car shop, and pick up a pair of hoses of that make. And you can always call RMM or contact them and ask for those 2 hoses.

im sure that if toyota wanted to.. they could blame ANY electrical problems you might have.. to this "the sensor support bracket needs to be mounted to the main (relay) fuse box."
... "oh sir, the reason that your trunk light doesnt work is because of the bolt installed to the main fuse box... whoever mounted that there, must have broken the required circut"
- toyota already blames certain electrical problems to aftermarket gauge overlays - since you need to remove the gauge cluster to install them.
...
BUT - I've seen several intakes installed and never heard of the owner getting flak from their regular maintence toyota dealership.

aye thanks. The car has 18k miles on it so far. No issues yet with the engine.
but if what was posted in another thread about the GTS engine dieing at around 35k miles I didn't much want to risk a warranty void.
Bought the Intake new from the RMM site.

Well...i hate toyota warranty. When i had my 01' gt first thing i bought was a Weapon R short ram air intake. I had it installed. The car ran sooo shitty, it caused a misfire on every cylinder and some other nasty stuff. Pretty much the company that installed it said they wouldnt pay for it and I ended up paying $300 to get everything worked out again. Make sure you know what your doing, because paying $300 when your about to buy 18's really pisses you off.
