I'm painting a few more things on the interior of my car. I already have teh pieces sanded and primered and they look great. But when i went out this morning to apply the first coat of actual paint the worst thing i've had happen to me involving paint yet happened. The paint came out of the can in a sort of split stream. The usual mist was around it and the spray looked fine when i cleared the can, but the paint was focused and only coming out of the top and bottom of the nozzle. I tried a different nozzle and got the same results. Any ideas?!

Soak the nozzle in some thinner for a while. Poke the hole clean with a thin sewing needle. Blast some air through (or even blow through) in the direction reverse to paint flow. Shake the can up very well before spraying.

Maybe try shaking up the can, then spray it while holding it upside down. This will also prevent from spraying out clots of paint.

Maybe it's just too cold.
