Got to test drive an SRT-4 today, and it was amazing. We had 4 people in the car (my, my friend, two salesmen) and that thing still pulled so damn hard.

The interior and seats also felt very, very comfortable. My friend drove one the other day too and now he is thinking about getting one. This will definitely be my next car. Have any of you ever driven one?

saw a TV show they upgraded the turbo and stuff on the car for about 10 grand including body mods it was a 370hp car. wrx or wrx STI? AWD also takes some HP away from the wheels cause you got more moving parts to push around, and the bas wrx has less hp than an srt 4. 20k for a 230hp car is awsome.

yeah and thats been proven that the 230 hp is the actual wheel horse power equaling 250 at the crank

Is it really considered a neon? I mean, it has an upgraded body style of the neon, but the suspension and engine are totally different. If I ever got one I would probably drop that sucker too, because it's too high for me (especially in the back).

I'm going to start saving up now for a down payment for that car. Reasons I like it is because it's a 4 door (can bring all my friend with me places, etc.), it's cheap, it has an awesome amount of power, turbo can be upgraded while still under warranty, and looks aggressive stock (IMO it looks really nice stock except for the height).

i test drove it also but ended up getting the scion tc instead because i decided i wont really be into the car in 5 years and the space was just not as good as the tc

yes, it still would be considered a neon, just like the dodge ram srt-10 is still a ram

its a great car without a doubt
it gets a thumbsup in my book

I test drove one, and the sucker pulls really hard, but the ride height feels like an SUV compared to the celica (which is already pretty high in stock form) and in general I don't like how the car connects with the road. Very fast, but I didn't feel like I was stuck to the road, like in most sport compacts that I have driven. With a good amount of suspension work the car could be really fun to drive though.

I really wish they made it in AWD or RWD. What a shame it's in FWD.

where did you hear that, sport compact car and dodge say its a heavy built german designed tranny capable of holding 500 hp. also yes your insurance company will call it a 4 door neon but thats a GOOD thing, as for me it would be cheaper to insure then my celica gt believe it or not spineyes

i just test drove one today, to see all the hype was about. It pulls very hard. It has really bad wheel hop, even with the stock bfgoodrich tires. Also, it has very ugly interior. But that's all that's really bad about it. After i was done testing it , my celica gt felt really slow...lol..but, yeah it is a fast car...if the car holds up, then i think it's a really good deal. the one i was looking at had 15,000 miles on it and was 15,500 dollars which i think is a good deal. thumbsup

wow on SRT but I don't think they have much to say about reliability. Sure they are a fast car but it's also faster down the drain. I don't like SRT but I sure do respect it for having so much power on a FWD car.

It makes me proud to think on why most japanese designed car are not really that fast yet it's holding it's value...oh yeah, because it's a reliable car. thumbsup

Although I do think that the SRT-4 is extremely fast, it has some shortcomings that I think would make me overlook it as a potential buy.

1. My family is not a fan of domestics.
2. Interior is just lousy
3. Running that much boost can't be good for the engine.
4. It's not gonna preserve my last two points on my license.
5. FWD, and all the problems with performance from FWD.
6. Kinda ugly IMO

higher the boost and stuff...the shorter the enginee life...and why the hell would anyone want a f'ing DODGE NEON!! puke puke puke

These are ugly as hell. If your into power, save up for a Supra or an exotic...Celica is soo much better looking than a Neon...it looks like one so it is one thumbsdown

domestics suck .
you can pump any engine full of boost and get lots of power

imagine the warrenty claims in a couple years when all that boost starts blowign the motor apart

People who buy this car don't buy it for looks. That simple. Also, it's faster than many of the other cars in its price. Simple as that. Don't console yourself that other cars look better or can be modded to be faster.

dude i understand... chill out Eric. Everyone has their own biased opinion and mines is simply stated as! I wouldnt by that POS!! If your gonna get a boosted car with quality, might as spend your money right and go all out. And personall I would put out the extra cash for a STI. But hey to his/her own right? what do you buy for?? Looks, speed, both, quality?? Dodge neon's are low end cars...they won't last that long...and looks do matter to people no matter what even though they say they don't, thats bull, they want to look good. Cars are a part of a person 'place' in the world. Rich, poor, old people going for huge ugly luxury cars...neon or the new SRT-4 won't last that long so it is a poor investment into a car. The top brands for better, long term investments are Toyota, Honda puke Nissan, and Haundai puke Try consumer reports smile and even Saturn, yes Saturns last longer and are better then a neon. They last longer (I know a few people that have had one since 92 and have over 150k on it and still going strong (and that thing can boot lol)...i wouldn't buy one but i would over a Neon (which my ex girl had one)...god that car sucked lol...well, if you want one get one cause that is your preferance thumbsup

By the way...you could spend about the same or less on a used 300zx TT and it would tool on that..and it is such a better car thumbsup

i understand what all of you are saying about it being a neon and i aagree and thats what kept me away form one, but the main reason people would buy one is speed for green and thats what the car is made for, nothing else

what is the point of owning a car that you can't show off with looks as well?? more people will see and notice it more everyday or near everyday then on the track...if you have the money then spend it on making a better car (ours) kick ass...or just buy a damn Supra or Dodge Viper or an Enzo!
