Wrecked my celica about a month ago, and it was deemed a total loss... I think it was frame damage. It was fully loaded, low mileage. The ins. company gave me an option of keeping it and giving me a payout (which was quite nice) or just settling... I settled.
To add salt to my wounds, in hindsite, what does a totalled fully loaded 2000 gts go for?
Damn, I miss that car now!

you could look it up on kelly blue book, but if it had low miles and was in good condition, id say easily from $10000-$13000. i kno how ya feel tho! my car caught on fire last night and i think the insurance will probably consider it totalled. so i might be somewhat in the same boat as you. howd you wreck it anyway?

I don't think you could get $10,000 for a wrecked 2000 gts. You would be lucky to get that for a good one. The way you would have got the most money out of it would be to sell each part by yourself. Big pain in the ass though. Don't worry, we all learn lessons like that sometimes. You just got that much wiser. Go to www.traderonline.com [ traderonline.com] and you can find another good one for a few thousand. BTW, welcome to ECelica. And I'm going to have a hard time calling you dmbgirlie. How about if we call youn by your first name?

i dont think there's any way to say what totalled cars go for... cause usually they auction them off.. .and it all depends on how damaged they are and what number they are in the auction... but there's no way a totalled celica would go for $10,000.. i would guess 6000 or 7000 at the most and that's if it's not wrecked bad...

The insurance company will give you "considering you have full coverage" what your car is worth. They will more or less Kelly blue book value your car and give you that +/- a few hundred. I had a 95 i totaled and i received 4300 for it cause that was the going price on a 95 with 180K miles .

How about if we call youn by your first name? The ACV I got from KBB was 14750 and then again from NADA for 14650. So, those of you with mint 2000 GTS Celica's should look that up The total ins. settlement was for more than 14K. 12K to pay it off and 2K to me. This was my 3rd Celica. I'm thinking I need to be done I certainly miss the car, and I had the opportunity to go visit it before they took it to the morgue (so to speak) - I declined. And to the previous question of how I wrecked it - I lost control on an interstate and slamed into a guardrail - thankfully it wasn't a concrete barrier, or most likely I wouldn't be writing this email. Thank you for the welcome - you can call me girlie if you'd like

what happened to your other 2 celicas? did you wreck those too??
oh see after badceli's post i was thinkin that you were talking about how much could you get a wrecked celi for.. or something like that.. like how much do they sell them for... so that's what i meant by my post
yeah with insurance companies you make out like a bandit (depending on which company you go through) if you total your car... my one friend got rearended and the insurance company gave him a crapload of money.. they even paid to replace his system... and my other friend's car go hit while it was parked and he got a brand new body kit out of the deal...

Sorry to hear about your accident! Would have been nice if you could have been a member of the site earlier; we could have gotten to know you before the Celi got totalled. Please stick around if you want; there's some pretty cool people here. Well, here's to all the good times you've had with Celicas; maybe there'll be more?

I wouldn't recommend ANYONE wrecking a celica. While I walked away from it without a scratch, I got lucky, they're sturdy little cars!!! My other celicas, yes I wrecked the first one, it was a '78 model, and insurance wouldn't cover replacement, you can imagine My second one - I got burned on a lease deal. I'm sure (and hope) that baby survived! 1996 anniversary edition, silver. Ugh, I miss that one big time.

Ah - I bet. I had to take a bus from Arkansas to Dallas after the accident. Sheesh I'm sorry you are without your celica for 3 weeks, I don't know your story. I hope it's not an accident, and if it is, I hope you are okay! I do have a new car (cough - an Audi) and I like it a lot, it's a great car I still miss the Celica though, and particularly the 1996 model. May my 2000 model rest in peace!

I almost feel obligated to bring her home, but I can't. The '96 celica - damn - if someone can bring that one home, I'd give anything Last seen in Franklin TN at the Toyota dealership. They said it was going to auction somewhere in IL.
